About Gloomwood

✦ AI summary

Sneak through a twisted Victorian city filled with supernatural horrors, using stealth, your wits, and a uniquely gothic arsenal to uncover the mystery of your abduction. From the creators of DUSK and ULTRAKILL comes a hand-crafted immersive sim where every shadow, sound, and interactable object becomes part of your survival strategy.

Gloomwood is a stealth horror FPS that follows your mysterious abduction to a forgotten, twisted Victorian metropolis in the midst of a horrifying transformation. Wield your canesword and take to the shadows as you uncover the accursed mystery hidden within the fog.
The producers of DUSK, AMID EVIL, ULTRAKILL and FAITH bring you a frightening, gothic immersive sim full of haunted streets, dark tunnels and decadent mansions.
  • An intricate, hand-crafted city with freeform exploration - from towering rooftops down to hidden passages, the routes you take and paths you make, are your choice.
  • A detailed stealth and sound system that tracks your light visibility and propagates noise accurately through the world. Tread lightly. Or prepare to get loud.

  • A unique arsenal to meet any situation - a stealthy canesword, six-shot revolver, folding shotgun, hand-placed traps, rope-slinging harpoon rifle and more.
  • In-depth player interactivity, from leaning to eavesdrop, peeking through door cracks, checking the bullets in your firearms and mantling onto ledges.

  • A mob of ghastly denizens and monsters with acute senses, like the sharp-clawed Crowmen and the fearsome, cadaver-seeking Corpse Duster.
  • Gloomwood is full of objects to pick up, throw, climb, smash and use to your advantage.
There is more to this city than you can possibly imagine...

Probably one of the best games I've ever played, I am obsessed with learning more about the world and experiencing every single new update that the dev team has planned. Even in its current state of early access, I 100% endorse this game's content, especially with the new Hightown District. The soundtrack is also incredible in this game, I highly recommend listening to it.

I love this game, it is 100% one of my favorites ever. The atmosphere and art direction is amazing, I love that the level design feels like a sandbox and could make even my 10th playthrough feel unique with all the different ways that you can approach the same situations that the game presents you with such as being able to do big skips of certain areas of the game with even a little bit of creativity and game knowledge. Plus the horror elements are really well done doing well to keep the horror and scares while fitting seamlessly into the gameplay. Though it's not done yet and though the new updates break the game pretty bad sometimes, they have never failed to fix every new bug in less than a couple days after the update and the new updates are always worth the wait. I would never give this game anything less than a 10/10 and I'm more than excited to see how Gloomwood develops.
