I really wish Steam had a "maybe" option? The art style is gorgeous, and the score is relaxing. I wouldn't call it fun - it's more of an interesting way to spend two hours. My only qualm is the ending. You spend two (interesting) hours collecting body parts, then the "build a creature" section - which is framed as the culmination of all your efforts throughout the game - takes two minutes and is so simple it feels like a mobile game for a pre-schooler. "Click this once". "Move one piece into place instead of doing a full jigsaw" kind of thing. The rest of the puzzles feel quite detailed, so to have that as the ending felt like a tutorial tacked onto the final act. I wanted to love this, and if you're happy to spend two hours poking around a very well-made, pretty point and click without a story, go for it. If you're looking for emotional resonance or any kind of narrative pay-off, look elsewhere. Another review described it as "visually beautiful but emotionally empty" and that's exactly it. I finished it and went "oh. OK then." Don't expect anything from the ending and just enjoy the art.
