About The Room Two

✦ AI summary

Solve intricate mechanical puzzles and explore mysterious environments as you follow cryptic clues from an enigmatic scientist across time and space. This enhanced PC version of the critically acclaimed sequel delivers expanded puzzle gameplay with beautifully detailed environments and rebuilt assets for a tactile, immersive experience.

Following the release of The Room in 2014, Fireproof Games are proud to bring the critically acclaimed sequel to PC.

The Room Two continues the time-spanning journey of its predecessor while significantly expanding its unique puzzle gameplay. Follow a trail of cryptic letters from an enigmatic scientist known only as “AS” into a compelling world of challenging mystery and tactile exploration.

Development on this fully-enhanced HD version of The Room Two began shortly after the mobile release of The Room Three late in 2015 and has involved creating more detailed environments for each level as well as rebuilding and re-texturing every asset in the game.

Fireproof Games are a small independent team working in Guildford in the UK. We self-published our first game The Room on iPad in September 2012 and were stunned with both the critical success and our new-found fan-base, not to mention multiple international awards. The Room games have since changed our lives and we hope you enjoy playing them as much as we enjoyed making them.

Of the entries in the series, The Room 2 is my least favourite. Not because it's any less pretty than the other games, but because it relies relatively heavily on "hunt the pixel" challenges. Not my cup of tea.

I had quite the trouble completing the last two puzzles of this game; the first game in the series was much more enjoyable and I preferred it to this one. Especially in the last room, it just became a guessing game of where the next thing you can interact is.

another fantastic puzzle game in the room series. it will really get you thinking (and sometimes scratching your head), but if you like puzzle games definitely check the room series out.

A good continuation of the first one. A quick but challenging puzzle game.
Recommended
The Room Two is a fantastic follow-up that successfully builds upon the foundation of the original. It takes the tactile, mechanical puzzle-solving that made the first game so satisfying and expands the scale, making for a much more dynamic experience. While it doesn't completely reinvent the wheel, it is a clear step up from its predecessor. The Good:

Expanded Scale: Instead of focusing on just one single box on a table, you are now interacting with entire, themed rooms. Having to move between different tables, chests, and altars to solve interconnected puzzles makes the world feel much larger and more immersive.
Great Atmospheric Variety: The environmental design is excellent. Moving from a crypt to a seance room to a pirate ship keeps the mystery fresh, with each location having its own distinct vibe and clever mechanical gimmicks.
That Same Great Tactile Feel: The game retains the incredibly satisfying, physical puzzle design of the first. Sliding secret compartments, turning gears, and peering through the eyepiece to see hidden dimensions still feels as engaging as ever.
The Bad: [list…

A nice follow up, I enjoy the creepier elements it went with and different areas. I felt like they could have gone a little further with the creepy atmosphere and parts. But overall a short and fun puzzle game!
