About Black Heaven: A Necromantic Dating Sim
Overview:
Inspired by Bloodborne and Doki Doki Literature Club, Black Heaven is an 18+ dark fantasy/psychological horror dating simulator inspired by the 'hungry ghost' of Buddhist mythology.
In Black Heaven: A Necromantic Dating Sim, you’re a former scholar and one of the last survivors of a plague that’s destroyed the world you used to know.
After nearly succumbing to the disease, your life is saved by a mysterious necromancer named No-Eyes, who offers you the chance to escape death forever and relive your past. All he asks are the souls of your former classmates:
- Ru, your shy but brilliant tutor
- Lyse, the fiery, sharp-witted debutante
- Izagi, the idealistic and stoic martial artist
As you return to the ruined academy where you spent your happiest days, you’re haunted by the pleasant memories of your old friends, and the line between memory and madness becomes dangerously blurred...

Features:
Black Heaven features a mechanic called "Fractal Madness," which warps the game if you repeatedly attempt to undo your past actions by reloading a previous save file! Simply reloading the game doesn't increase your Fractal Madness, but returning to decisions you've already made will.
In addition:
- Explore three main romance paths and multiple endings!
- Play a simple, chess-like mini-game called 'Seeker' to increase characters' dispositions!
- Enjoy a soundtrack that changes based on your Fractal Madness level!
- Discover a hidden romance path for No-Eyes, the necromantic antagonist!

One of the best visual novels I've played. After I purchased Black Heaven, my plan was to play for about 30 minutes - just to get a feel for the game - then return to the RPG I'd been playing previously. But once I started Black Heaven, it was like beginning a great book that I just couldn't set down. And when I finished the first playthrough, I had to play again to see other endings for other characters. I purchased the game on sale, but it is worth buying at full price. Intricately woven story with engaging characters. Choices really do direct the narrative. Humor and sorrow. If you enjoy well-crafted storytelling, this game is definitely worth your time.3 found this helpful

You find yourself in the Library of Gizaron wading in and out of consciousness. As you awake, you find your organs being removed from your very eyes by a thin man with a metal mask that shows his toothy smile. He searches for the information for physiomancy and he needs your help to get that knowledge. You must give him the souls of three classmates that excelled in three different subjects, in return, you can forever live in happy memories.
Pros:
1. The story is extremely well written and the world is detailed wonderfully. I enjoyed how manipulative arts such as physiomancy are commonplace where elite schools offer them, or constant mention of immortal scholars. Information like this is crucial to build the world, especially something so far from reality. The back and forth between Uzo traveling ruins i…2 found this helpful
I don't wanna spoil anything and it's clear why the store page doesn't give away too much of the story. It's longer and more detailed and fleshed out than you expect. I strongly recommend Black Heaven, although I realize it's not a very convincing recommendation with so little information. If the premise seems interesting, I promise it's even better once you get into it and well worth it.2 found this helpful
I haven't finished yet but, this game has great music, good art, and one of THE most unique story lines I've ever seen. The writing is immaculate and the concepts are so interesting. I can't say more without spoilers but DEFINITELY try this game!!1 found this helpful
Alright so first things first this is a good vn. I enjoyed the story and liked the characters. However there is no CG gallerly i have been able to unlock. Going to be honest im a little depressed after finishing it.
2/5 stars . . at the surface level this vn isnt that bad . the story is interesting and theres good payout for the plot threads and most things are resolved throughout enough playthroughs . but by then the game starts to get very repetitive , with the same dialogue lines reused for scenes between the same heroines , it almost feels like the dev got bored of finishing the game and just started copy pasting content near the end .
