As you climb out of the depths of this treacherous game, bones shall splinter, and the air will reverberate with the piercing screams of your enemies. Sacrifice your minions to keep ahead of the raging inferno that threatens to engulf you. Their blood shall become the fuel that powers your epic powers, allowing you to vanquish your foes with ease! You must prove your worth by enduring the ten initiation trials that await you. Only then may you enter the endless mode and challenge yourself to beat your own score.
What sets BLOOD RITE apart from all other games is its unique "human" resource management system. Your minions harvest precious gems to spawn new minions, and thus, keep the blood flowing. It is a delicate balance, but one that you must master if you hope to emerge victorious.

BLOOD RITE is a very interesting hybrid of a clicker/incrementer and a tower defense game. The concept behind the game is really novel and I will admit, despite the small scope, I liked the inventiveness behind it. It's all too rare in this day of construction kit template 2D retro pixel platformers and other junkware flooding Steam (and this genuinely made games failure to reach a broader audience can in some ways be attributed to the pollution that floods the Steam store from asset flippers and RPG Maker using McDonalds employees who think using assets + GameMaker Studio blueprints turns them into Rockstar Games). One important note is that even though this is an amateur project, it does seem to be sincerely and genuinely made. I couldn't find any flipped assets, plagiarism or any other kind of insincere actions from the developer, but unfortunately genuine intentions alone are not enough to produce a brilliant PC gaming experience. Now I think it's important to go over the rather novel gameplay (and the somewhat gory theme, I'm not squeamish, I didn't even close my eyes in that scene in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, you know what I'm talking about). I played it only for a bit, but it immediately draws you in with its appropriately grim atmosphere. Pacing starts of nice and slowly, giving you enough time to figure out the mechanics. Around stage three you get a good sense of the balancing act of resources that's going to help you reach the top (literally and figuratively). Beating each subsequent stage is rewarding due to the new upgrades/unlocks you get! Am not a frequent Steam player, but I look forward to playing it again when I have some more free time on my hands!
Blood Rite is an enjoyable and fast-paced game. It also offers a considerable challenge. Although the initial trials may be manageable, the difficulty increases as the game progresses. Overall, the game is well worth its price, providing a couple of hours of fun gameplay!
Love the unusual theme and the cool mixture of tactical elements and time pressure. Absolute recommendation to check this game out!
