BoxLoop 2

BoxLoop 2 is a weird little puzzle adventure that I ended up enjoying mostly because of how simple its main idea is. I play as Aous and have to deal with a group of evil boxes that have trapped everything in a time loop. The basic goal is to figure out the riddle I am given and then stomp on the correct coloured box before the loop starts again. It sounds silly, and honestly the game knows that, which gives the whole thing a light comedy feel. The riddles are the main gameplay mechanic, and I liked how each level changes the way I look at the boxes. I am not just walking around looking for a specific colour. I have to read the clue, understand what it is pointing towards and then make the correct choice quickly. The time pressure adds a little tension because taking too long can cause the loop to restart. I enjoyed that combination of thinking and reacting, especially when a level gives me a clue that is not immediately obvious. I also like that the levels are designed around their individual riddles. The environment can change to match what I am being asked to figure out, so it does not feel like the same puzzle copied into a different room. There are also platforming elements m…

A short fun challenge game, with a really tricky ending. I had a lot of fun figuring out how to get the final achievement. Definitely give it a try, worth the price.
