Budgie Genetics Simulator

There is a significant lack of good genetics games, especially on Steam. The graphics are cute, the game is straightforward enough to figure out, and the genetics are interesting. It could use a little more of a tutorial, but honestly at $6.99, it's completely worth it

This game was purchased for me as a birthday gift and wow, what a cute little simulator!! The available genetics are robust. It does not have rare captive variants like "hagoromo" or the means to make a "halfsider" chimera like the famous Twinzy, but you can make something as complex as a cinnamon recessive yellowface or even a "creamino", a variant of ino. Some rarer options like "anthracite" are available, as well. As a result, I was able to simulate my very first budgie's unique genetics. It's not exact as there is no randomization in how the budgies show their genetics, but it's wonderful to have a digital facsimile of a cherished animal. It was very fun to discover his unique genetics - i haven't unlocked every genetic option yet, but it appears that he was both dominant and recessive pied!! wow However! The greatest benefit to owning this game, beyond the educational aspect, is the ability to have an actual flock simulator. If you have lonely birds during winter, this is an excellent noise generator. Each bird generates its own vocal stream. The background generates wind noises. 10/10 It's charming and fun, and for the most part the genetics are right on for real budgies. I sincerely wish there were more games that offered a nice compact genetic simulation experience like this. Completely worth the $7! All the fun of producing beautiful birds without the seed mess of real life.

Love the game, its minimalist in terms of graphics but very complex and satisfying. I wish you could save more than one flock at once though.

i love this game but i am sadly like very really dumb and i dont understand how to progress. i've tried inbreeding them with the worst traits possible and they seem pretty chill tbh i must try harder
