Bully Beatdown

I am a huge fan of beat em up titles, and had been wanting to try this one for a while. Now that I have, I can say it was actually a lot better than I expected it to be. First of all, the art is really great. There is a fair amount of diversity within the enemies. Cheerleaders, jocks, rockers, football players, security guards, school mascots, and more will put up a fight! The cutscenes are well done too. They are each told in a comic book style scene, but don't drag out and get to the gameplay quickly. The gameplay is pretty standard for a beat em up, though they update your moves the more you use them, and a lot of the fun comes from getting gradually more powerful over the course of the game. The boss fights were also really fun, most enemies having multiple phases before finally beating them in a one on one fight. I do think this game can improve in some ways. For starters, they force you to play in fullscreen, and I would prefer a windowed mode as an option. Finding out how to use specials was a bit strange as well because the game doesn't explain it. Bully Beatdown is a 2.5D arcade brawler with a "fat kid vs bullies" theme and hand drawn/cartoony art. Take on the role of a victim of bullying and perpetrate violence against your tormentors. So this is basically terrible advice for victims of bullying. Apart from the generally poor premise for a video game, the implementation here is pretty bad, too. There's no support for mouse input, despite this being released on PC. So, unplug your mouse and throw it away, the developers think it's garbage. Keyboard only! You go through a poor sequence of being forced to mash the keys you want to use for brawling because, you know, 30,000 successful games on Steam managed to have a straightforward control customisation schema, so clearly the best game design approach is to reject what works. Gameplay follows on the train wreck trajectory here... mediocre art (at least it's not retro pixel), janky hitboxes and controls... it's painful. A lot of work went into this, but not a lot of work went into the most important components... design, asking "Is this a good idea?", and of course testing and polish. It's impossible to recommend.

اذا حطيت اللعبة على صعوبة نايتمير ما تقدر تفوز ليش؟ لأن: 1- مجرد ما انك ترسبن بعد ما تبدأ المرحلة راح تتدمج من الشيطان لسبب ما حتى قبل ما تقدر تتحرك. 2- الأعداء يذبحونك بثلاث أو أربع ضربات فقط.(طبعاً هذا اذا الهلث حقك ماكس الي هو 300)ا 3- تذبح الأعداء بـ 15 ضربة أو أكثر.(طبعاً جميع المهارات على اعلى مستوى)ا 4- يرسبنون الأعداء كل 10 أو 15 ثانية الا في حالة انك حطمت الكتاب الي من المستحيل تسويه من شدة الصعوبة(حتى لو قدرت تكسره راح يكون وراك مليون عدو قوي بيلعنون شكلك). If you play the game on Nightmare difficulty at the last level you can't win why? Because: 1- Once you spawn after you start the level you will be damaged by the devil for some reason even before you can move. 2- Enemies will kill you with only 3 or 4 hits. (this is if your health is 300 which is the max health you can get) 3- You kill enemies with 15 or more hits. (all skills max level) 4- Enemies spawn every 10 or 15 seconds unless you break the book which is at this point is impossible to do(even if you do break it you will still have a million powerful enemies behind) -> All I can say is Good Luck ((because you will need it))

pretty good but not good enough for having progression with no cloud save and a large install footprint being a recipe for me to checkout entirely. not gonna babysit the savefile and im not gonna commit to 100%ing the game anytime soon, so I'll start over in perpetuity leaving this thumbs down until they feel like adding steam cloud support

The game looks great, the visuals are crisp & sharp. The music is fantastic, as well as, the story board that leads you to the next sequence of events and game play. The problem lies with the game play & the devs not responding to or addressing the games problems. I play with a controller, which it claims to support. Special moves only function when I'm facing left, leaving me exposed on the right. Zero response from the devs. If you've dealt with wonky games/gameplay & are looking for a beat'em up, don't pay full price for this broken would be gem.

amazing beat em up game, really funny, good playability, graphics like a retro style - APPROVED
