C.A.S.T. (CHERNOZEM ANOMALY STRIKE TEAM)

This game is a pretty interesting mix of tactical combat, exploration and a weird post-apocalyptic atmosphere. I really like the idea of building a team and having to think about your moves instead of just running in and shooting everything. The setting feels mysterious, and there’s always something strange waiting around the next corner. The gameplay takes a little time to get used to, but once you understand the mechanics, it becomes pretty satisfying. It’s definitely not the easiest game, but that makes winning a tough fight feel even better. Overall, a fun experience if you enjoy tactical games with a dark and unusual atmosphere. I came in expecting chaos, and apparently chaos came with a strategy guide.

Game is actually good Difficulty Quite simple just follow the markers for main objectives while dealing with anomalies while managing your items to avoid carry limit The game will let you increase the difficulty/skull each time you finish a a mission to slowly ramp up the game, each difficulty can add more enemy types or new anomalies so each new difficulty has a new surprises So 1 skull-4 is basically the tutorial Single player Decent but the game but it's really fun with friends Multiplayer/CO-OP There is no way to check the server ping and region so you can get kicked out because of network issues, it's recommended to play with friends in the same region Progression -Weapons + Upgrades + Bullets (No cosmetics atm) -Characters + Upgrades (No cosmetics atm) -Modifiers/Perks (Quite tedious and random hope there's a quality of life update for this) -Same maps&Objectives but increased difficulty can change the optional objectives and anomalies

What I liked most is the gameplay loop. Going into a mission, completing objectives, fighting through hordes and then coming back to upgrade your weapons and perks feels really satisfying. The anomalies and retro setting also give the game its own atmosphere, and co-op makes the chaotic moments even more fun. Really enjoyable game with a lot of potential.

This is what Left 4 Dead would look like if it had been released on the PS1. The main issue is that you need to play with at least one partner; otherwise, the game quickly turns into a standard shooting gallery. Having a partner makes running through these polygonal fields at least a little less boring. I would have liked some gameplay variety maybe missions with some light parkour elements, or a fight against a giant boss. Even a timed survival mode would have been a decent option.

A budget-friendly co-op shooter with a stylish look, what more could you ask for?
