CAGE-FACE | Case 1: The Mine is a low key asset flip, a bunch of other people's assets assembled badly to make a basic game, typically this kind of thing is done by amateur developers without sufficient budget, talent and/or staff to do the job of game development professionally. It's then quickly rushed into Steam Direct. And, unsurprisingly, this never results in a product with any quality, interest, or value for gamers. This low key asset flip is your usual first person horror jumpscare adventure set in a spooky abandoned mine (wow, that has never ever ever ever been done before, yawn). Wander around some basic Unreal assets and discover this is only 15 minutes long because it's not actually a game, it's an advertisement as the "developer" is trying to drum up an audience for more asset flips in the same series. Once more, there's a process to create a game demo on Steam and it's harmful to gamers and to genuine ethical developers when it's ignored and the Steam Store gets misused with advertising like this. Acceptable llittle free "horror game". It is about 10 minutes long but since you will just keep dying to the ever-spawning and teleporting fast cage-face monster within the tiny mine level, hence, it will take approximately 20 minutes. It is pure luck and RNG and usually if he sees you, you die but I suggest using night goggles 24/7 cuz flashlight is f'd up by the developer Alex Olinkiewicz on purpose to create a low effort horror environment with no fog and also recommend sprinting everywhere cuz apparently enemy spawn is random and he is not sensitive to sound at all. I recommend doing normal mode first and get your achievements and do it one more time in hardcore when you realized how to beat. It took me about 40 minutes to get 100% achievements and I am a dude usually scared sh1tless of horror games but this was nowhere near scary I just finished for the sake of completing achievements. For a free game I have seen way worse so this gets a recommendation from me but I also realized the capabilities of the developer and there's no way I am buying the second game unless its free.

CAGE-FACE | Case 1: The Mine is it okay atmospheric, horror game and it's made by Alex Olinkiewicz the same person that made frostbite deadly climate, so the story. A detective is hired to find a missing elderly grandfather, but upon discovering notes and old case files from the missing elderly man, the detective is thrown into a bizarre case that starts with a tail of a strange and horrifying monster and the teenage boy who discovers it. The likes, the story is pretty good it has a sort of anthology vibe basically a detective finds an old VHS tape containing the account of a teenage boy discovering a horrifying monster, it’s simple yet effective, it definitely makes you want to find out more about this grandfather and why he has this stuff. The gameplay is okay, you just sneak or run around solving a light puzzle and gathering items in order to escape, while hiding from the monster, nothing too complicated. The graphics are okay I think it's similar to what this guy used for his first game frostbite deadly climate with its okay uses of colors and scenery. I want to recommend overall because I enjoy the atmosphere, the original monster fitting in to his surroundings and the terrifying disturbance of bats signaling the monster is coming.. but I'm held back by 2 major bugs. Hiding in the chest to escape the monster leads to 1 of 3 things: You either escape the monster as intended or you get one of the following bugs in my experience: Cage-Face will frustratingly stand right outside the chest forever or somehow seeing you dive into the chest even though he had no line of sight- causing him to kill you. Other than that my main critique is "Normal" mode should not game over in 1 attack by the monster as it makes it no longer horror and replaces it with pure frustration.
