About Dark Mine

Your first night on the job should have been uneventful, just another shift deep in the tunnels of an isolated gold mine. But when disaster strikes and the mine collapses, your reality changes instantly. The crew is gone. Something is down here with you. And the only thing standing between you and the dark is the green glow of your night vision lens.Dark Mine is a first-person survival horror game set in a pitch-black labyrinth of rock, debris, and unseen terror. Using only a handheld night vision camera, you must navigate narrow tunnels, avoid the creature that stalks the dark, and find your way to the surface.

A Retro Nightmare

Inspired by the lo-fi tension of classic horror, Dark Mine blends PSX-style visuals with a claustrophobic setting and relentless atmosphere. The mine may be abandoned, but it is far from empty. Every flicker of movement and every distant sound may be the last thing you hear.

See in the Dark—Or Don’t

The camera is your only guide. Use it to uncover hidden paths, spot movement in the shadows, and avoid the monster hunting you. But be warned: light can help you, but it can also reveal dark truths.

Escape or Die Below

You are alone. There is no rescue. The only way out is forward, through crumbling passageways and past whatever now calls this mine home. Keep moving, stay quiet, and don’t lose your grip on reality. The mine took your crew. Don’t let it take you.

Dark mine is an extremely short indie game where you are trapped in a mine with a demon and have to navigate your way out to the surface via finding elevators up. I finished the game in exactly 20 minutes. This game is difficult to review because on one hand I have fun with it, and on the other hand it was extremely short. The stealth elements are very easy and the levels are basic, with a few little twists here and there. I wish it was much longer, there was potential here for a much better game, it was atmospheric and tense. The developer calls the game "Bite Sized Horror" for a reason! Wait for a sale if you're interested. Overall: 5/10

The game is quite short but has a very interesting idea and setting. What caught my attention the most was the feeling of being lost in the middle of a cave. I think this is great for moving forward with the game. There could have been many more levels exploring this feeling of being lost in the catastrophobic labyrinth that are the mines. I was scared several times by the jumpscares, and at one point it was perhaps even more than I expected, hahaha. The monster could have been scarier too. Apart from that, the game is worth it. Give it a chance.

Dark Mine is a short, creepy little horror game set in a dark underground mine. The atmosphere is the main highlight — tight spaces, heavy darkness, and that constant feeling that something is stalking you. You mostly rely on your night vision camera to survive, which makes everything feel tense since you’re basically defenseless the whole time. It’s not a long or complex game, but for the price, it’s a solid quick horror experience. Perfect if you just want something short and spooky.
