Cakefoot is a very simplistic browser/Flash tier one-button action/reflexes game. You control a pixel blob with feet. You're on a line. You traverse the line by pushing your left mouse button. Taking your finger off the button makes you slide backwards. There's many moving enemies so you need to time your movement carefully to get from one end of the line to the other. That's all there is to this, and this simplicity and shallowness is a problem in itself. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The game features somewhat lazy, simplistic "retro/pixel" looking 2D graphics, of the type you nor…8 found this helpful
Great game that sits on that sweet spot where it's just hard enough and the segments are short enough that you just _have_ to try again when you die. Super fun!5 found this helpful
This game is rage bait at its finest3 found this helpful
I first played Cakefoot in arcade form at Wonderville -- it's quite simple but somehow manages to be completely addicting. Getting in (and out of ) a difficult spot can feel brain-melting and cause you to question your sanity and your inner impulsivity. Having the new quest mode and online leaderboards is a nice new take on the software. Cakefoot is very worth the modest $2.99 asking price. That's less than a cup of coffee or a candybar. Will those things give you more hours of enjoyment than Cakefoot? I think not.1 found this helpful
