Cal & Bomba is an explosive programmatic puzzle game where you use your wits and your trusty wagon-cannon to annihilate your enemies! String together a sequence of actions then sit back and enjoy the fireworks.
Getting with the Program
Each level will present you with a set of Action-tiles that can be slotted into a sequence. The length of this sequence will vary from puzzle to puzzle, and play out from left to right. Actions include: Movement to navigate left and right, Potions to increase or decrease the power of your cannon, an arsenal of explosives and Utility actions like Wait and Loop.Chain Reactions
Dealing with your enemies in the fewest amount of moves is paramount to success, but there's only so much room in a sequence. This is where the abilities of your enemies comes in to play. All the baddies have some sort of feature or quirk, you can use to take out multiple foes at once. Figure out which enemies to shoot and in what order, but be careful as each round some of the enemies move changing the field of battle!An Eye to Behold
The gnome Cal and his wife, the troll Bomba are on a journey to take out the wicked Beholder. Their quest will take them across 3 worlds each with 24 levels and a boss fight. If you like a challenge you can try the Hard mode with a set of unique levels and harder Boss-fights, doubling the amount of puzzles. There's a quick prologue world as well to help players ease into the action.What Steam players say

A gorgeous game with some clever puzzles. Even I can solve some of these puzzles! :) I really love the art style! The attention to detail is wild, and the drawings has a warm analogue feel.1 found this helpful
I'm not usually one to be great at math, but playing this game and figuring out the solutions—plus earning three stars on my puzzles—really made me feel like a math whiz! It gave me a little confidence boost every time I got them right. If you’re into math and puzzle games, I think you’ll really enjoy this one. They even introduce new monsters to keep things endlessly fun and interesting!
I played this game with my community and we enjoyed it. Even tho I only played it for a few minutes, I foound it very creative and like the mechanics alot! If you like to challenge your brain with puzzles, logic and a bit of math, this game is for you. ^_^
When I started to play it I liked the thinking and mathematical calculations you use to solve each puzzle. The animation and 2d art work also catches my eyes. Now, Yes, Me as an older Never Aging Gamer I enjoyed this game. I then looked at this stepping away for a moment and see this is really helpful for both kids and adults to warm up their brains to thinking and calculating stuff. Some good brain exercises. Fun, Educational and challenging. Check It OUT! Prologue really helped as a tutorial to properly guide you for what to expect and guide you. 8.5 out of 10 I would have liked it a little more with voices reading some of the text.
Cal & Bomba is a lovely and well made puzzle game that mixes math, logic, and creativity in a fun and relaxing way. The puzzles are smartly designed easy to start with but gradually more challenging as you go. The visuals are cute, and the characters add a nice bit of charm. I really appreciate how the game encourages you to think and plan without feeling stressful. It’s both entertaining and a bit educational in the best way. Overall, it’s a great experience for anyone who enjoys clever, thoughtful puzzle games. Highly recommended!
