Players appreciate the game's potential as a boss rush platformer with solid core concepts, but the project appears abandoned with minimal communication about its development status, which has disappointed the community. Common technical frustrations include inconsistent platform collision detection that leads to cheap deaths, unfair boss mechanics with long RNG-dependent attack sequences that can drag out fights, and overall execution issues that prevent the interesting premise from reaching its potential. While some players find charm in what's there and praise its difficulty, the overwhelmi
Pretty good game, it had a lot of potential to be a great boss rush game but I guess looking at when the last update was, its a scrapped project. Sad to see it come this way. Hopefully this gets actually popular by some crazy miracle and gets continued. This has actual potential, please don't give up. (edit) Just realized there was extra bit of info to why its been so silent here. However, I do believe it would be great if updates of how progress is doing could be posted here. It would show that development is well, and to build up hype and tell older players that this game is still being worked on. I don't know if this is still being worked on, or if my comment will even be read at all, but I hope atleast there is progress being made.2 found this helpful
The platforms that you visually can see often do not match what you can grab onto. This poor behind-the-scenes sprite-to-platform contact, especially in certain areas, often leads to the inability to grab even with perfect inputs. Boss rng attack sequences where certain attacks are required to progress but which sometimes go multiple minutes without execution. These needed attacks require multiple counters within a hit bar with a cool down otherwise it requires more counters. The longest I went without having one of these needed attacks was 6 minutes during the 3rd phase. Shorter but similar long times often led to canceling out any built-up counter progress I had prolonging the fights that already have multiple phases that reset to 1 after a fail.2 found this helpful
"CALAMITY CREATURES" is one of literally thousands of retro 2D platformers infesting Steam and lowering the average quality of all video games everywhere... and I'm not kidding. Searching for "platformers" on the Steam store page yields over 17,000 results! Is this one of the best of those? Absolutely not. This platformer-esque game has you control a little anime girl with Inspector Gadget prosthetic hands. You're under attack by AT-AT's from Star Wars (Disney is gonna sue someone) and you have to climb up the legs and dismantle parts of the AT-AT as you climb. It's a weak premise implemented badly, so the developer abandoned it after gamers showed no interest. In the modern era of high quality bleeding edge PC gaming, these kinds of flat, lazy, lackluster platformers just don't cut it. Platforming is a dead genre for a reason. Even though this is "free", it failed to attract any interest for gamers here on Steam Direct for obvious reasons. The developers gave up on this 2 years and 3 months ago. It's destined to remain unfinished. This junkware is just polluting Steam and making it difficult for gamers to fully finished, completed games. That's not good for gamers. On the…
