✦ AI summary

Players have strongly positive feelings about the game's zombies mode, which many consider iconic and among the best in the franchise, though some players note the campaign and multiplayer haven't aged well with poor balance, repetitive maps, and a mostly dead playerbase. The game works best as a nostalgia experience for those who played it at release, while newcomers may find it outdated compared to newer entries or even other Call of Duty titles like World at War.
A solid game at the time of release, but hasn't aged well.
As much as I used to enjoy this, it's another game I would give a middle review if that were possible. If you didn't play it when it first came out, and/or don't care about the campaign, skip this game. Even then, World at War had a better one, and is half the price with the DLC included for free. The multiplayer is poorly balanced (also very dead, even when using Plutonium; the base game and Plutonium both DO have bot support, though), with everyone running Ghost Pro and the FAMAS or AUG; many guns are straight up unusable, such as most of the SMG's, which are a special kind of terrible (MAC-11, Skorpion, PM63, etc). The maps are also bland and reptitive, with Treyarch's questionable love of mostly symmetrical 3 lane maps making them get boring quick. BO2 suffered from a lot of similar issues, with a strange campaign structure, poorly balanced MP (the FAL OSW, and the KAP-40, which is an auto pistol BTW, were literally banned in competitive play, rather than properly balance them), and a lack of variety in the maps, plus it's also largely dead on PC, or filled with cheaters. BO2 does have official bot support…
