Cat Go: Tactical Defense Braw

A cute early access tower defense game with kitty meows. There are 3 different cats each with their own stats. You can attack directly, throw bombs to slow the enemies, or build & upgrade 3 different towers across 7 different maps. It's got a lot of charm and some of the stages get pretty hectic. For just $5 it's a pretty neat little game!

You have the main character in the form of a cat, that has the ability to throw bombs in the event your mutant plants were not placed strategically to fend off waves. The gameplay is easily understood, although it took me some time to get used to movement keys and action buttons because I am so used to WASD. Nevertheless, it took me two tries to completely understand the game and cleared the hard difficulty. The artstyle of this game is simple, and cute. Pretty sure it would attract younger players out there. You will able to differentiate the type of plants and what they do with just pure guesswork with colors. I got confused with the Christmas Tree and the World Tree in my very first attempt, I tried to defend the Christmas tree because I'm feeling Santa :( The design of this game offers single-player and multi-player, and this review is leaning towards single-player's perspective. There are a few more aspects to consider compared to a typical tower defense game. All towers need to be fed meat to restore their health. From the Normal difficulty level onward, there are often cases where only two paths overlap, so you'll need to place towers carefully by observing the paths. Players can directly attack monsters, but the character's movement is slower than you might expect. These three aspects significantly increase the strategic depth of the game. Although there are more elements to keep an eye on compared to typical tower defense games, they make the game more engaging. Additionally, the 4-player mode, alongside solo mode, is also intriguing. In the 4-player mode, one player transforms into an enemy, creating a unique 3 vs. 1 mode. This is a feature that's hard to find in other games.

The 3vs1 setup is pure genius, letting you either be the sneaky demon cat or join forces with your feline friends to protect your turf. The mutant plant towers are a game-changer, literally. Growing them stronger by collecting meat from fallen demons is such a cool mechanic. One of the best co-op tower defense games I tried, and I looked for a lot. Nice graphics, fun game overall, deserve more attention and appreciation!

If you're looking for a game that's going to be the first one you play with your child, I strongly recommend this one. First off, the cats are just too cute. The game has just the right amount of action and stategy is needed so it's not corny. There weren't a lot of live users when we were playing, but there was no issue for gameplay. I felt proud when my son/daughter got ecstatic after clearing the first wave. It was a sight to see! A few suggestions to enjoy the game even more would be: 1. Featuring option to play with 2 monitors on 1 PC 2. Having a larger pool of players. Would really like to play 4 player multiplayer mode 3. Showing us the radius of the bomb (stun) - Our cat keep getting stunned lol If these are changed, I would play the game with my son/daughter everyday willingly. Oh, and I say again, just because it looks like a kid game doesn't mean it is corny. The game actually requires a strategic mind when defending for the wave by placing the units carefully. If you don't think it through, you'll have a hard time clearing stages XD
