About Central Bank

Add to your Wishlist to follow Central Bank!Welcome to Central Bank! The ultimate Central Bank simulator! Take control of the most fearsome weapon known to mankind: the key interest rate. As head of the central bank, you wield the power to make (or break) nations. Raise it, and watch markets crumble and riots erupt. Lower it, and brace yourself for an economy so hot it could melt steel.

Step into the all-powerful shoes of a central banker, where you hold the world’s fate at your fingertips – literally. Central Bank is about weaving the fine line between euphoric prosperity and absolute chaos:

Too high, and the people revolt as homes become unaffordable, businesses collapse, and global unrest unfolds. Too low, and inflation runs rampant, society devolves into a free-for-all, and governments beg you to reverse course. Play god with the economy, manipulate prosperity, and watch as your every choice impacts millions. Will you be the savior of stability… or the architect of economic apocalypse?

I have many suggestions — this is a game genre I really enjoy, and I’ve found that there’s truly nothing like it on the market. Although it’s currently a work in progress, I won’t be requesting a refund because I want to support the development. I think there are many elements that could be added. Beyond managing interest rates, you could implement quantitative easing (QE), open market operations, and more. Please add Simplified Chinese language support — with the advancement of generative AI today, this should be quite easy. Include simulations and curves for CPI/PPI, the stock market, cryptocurrency market, and bond market — we need a more realistic market simulation.

This isn't a game, this is a meme with a price tag. The animations, background, characters, and moving objects (which get stuck on each other, like people getting stuck on other people and fire hydrants) do not serve a purpose. Once, just once, at about 08:30 (I stopped at 10:00), a person had a little paragraph about how GDP growth benefits an economy. Otherwise, the animations are useless. The gameplay itself is clicking interest rates up or down by 1-2% increments in response to what seem to be prescripted jokes, like a "Special Military Operation" forcing you to send interest rates sky high. Sure, I get the joke, but jokes are free, not games. If this game were to actually be a game, there would need to be far, far more precision: a 0.25% change making a massive difference, not just sending interest rates down to 0%, then 16%, then 0% again, then 16% again. There's no data tea reading here, either: the game tells you what interest rate to set to. If you've actually read central bank-related news, and those are going to be this game's customers, you're going to know how massive of a shock to an economy a rate cut or hike is. This game treats going from "money printer go brrr…

this is a troll game. the entire gameplay is clicking the "up" button or "down" button. while you're clicking them you're looking at a city view where nothing changes. NPCs walk into each other and get stuck. cars instantly turn 90 degrees going around corners. this cannot have taken more than a week of time to make, how the hell is it $18.99.

Incredibly Unique & Promising – A Central Banker's Dream Simulator! Just started playing, but WOW – there's nothing like this on Steam or anywhere else! From the moment I launched Central Bank, I was blown away by its sharp visuals and deep, engaging mechanics. The concept alone is genius: wielding the power of interest rates to shape entire economies, for better or worse. The fundamentals are rock-solid—every decision feels weighty, and the ripple effects of my policies are already fascinating to watch unfold. The game does an amazing job of making complex economic principles accessible while keeping the tension high. Raise rates too much, and watch society crumble; lower them recklessly, and inflation spirals into madness. It’s a thrilling balancing act that no other game captures like this. I’ll update this review once I’ve played more, but for now? If you’ve ever wanted to play economic god, Central Bank delivers in a way no other sim does. This is something special!
