Warning: Dead PVP Game This game has no meaningful single player content, and no playable PvP servers. There is no functioning PvP population, it's a dead game, and cannot be played as intended.
Charrua Soccer - Pro Edition is a free mobile app that's been dumped on Steam as a paid product, as if it was a real PC game (it's not)... it's a cash grab from greedy mobile devs. This mobile app is, like it says on the box, a soccer game made for iPhones and Nintendo Switches. It's ported to PC lazily where nobody wanted it because PC gamers who like soccer games can (and do) play the console ported FIFA games. So it's a weird business plan to take a crappy mobile app and try to compete head to head with FIFA with crappy mobile graphics and no licensing or proper real world teams and players. But they tried anyway, and failed at comical proportions. From a technical perspective, as a mobile app, this doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The game features simple, cartoony 2D graphics, of the type you normally expect to see in low effort mobile apps. 3D graphics programming does require a degree of skill and co…

On the game's store page here on Steam, I saw a headline from some reviewer that stated, “Soccer for people who think they don’t like soccer.” After playing Charrua Soccer - Pro Edition, I'm not sure it convinced me that soccer is a fun sport to play on a PC yet alone watch on a TV or in person. Charrua Soccer - Pro Edition looks like a mix of Roblox and as though the figures on the foosball table escaped the metal rod they are suspended from and have unleashed themselves to play without those constraints that only allows them to move laterally, but because kicking a ball is the only thing they truly know, they didn't think of enjoying their newfound freedom by doing anything else, as anything could be more fun than soccer as demonstrated by this video game, even birding or watching paint dry. I get that it's an arcade version of the sports genre, which generally means that you can expect faster paced gameplay, far shorter round(?) timers, and sometimes flashy, explosive animations that are unrealistic to what you would see in reality or in another sports video gaming franchise like FIFA or Madden, but it's just not good. The "arcade" classification seems to be us…

It's an ok game. There are a lot of modes to play, but they are basically the same thing just with different teams, especially all the cups and tournaments. I went for a career mode. And it's very bare bones. You basically create a team, choose team colors, customise the names and appearances of your players and... just go through 14 games in each League from D to A. After every game you get some xp to invest into your players and that's it. There are no trades, no depth. You just passively upgrade your players and that's it. You're stuck with the same squad for the rest of the career mode. Gameplay itself is not that bad. It's easy to learn, and easy to master. Even the hardest difficulty becomes quite easy fairly quickly. There are no off-sides in this game, no dribbling. There are very little different animations. So all matches feel and play the same way. It can get really boring really fast. The only thing that kept me going through the career mode was that every single game had a random challenge attached to it for a prize of x1,5 or x2 xp multiplayer and the end of that match. Challenges are like this: score 3 goals, score a goal from the penalty kick, score a goal with hea…

I cannot get the game to *work* on two different PCs. Controller operates the menus and gets me into a game, but then at kickoff nothing works. Nothing happens. I spam every button on the controller, and have even tried using the KB/M and still just nothing.
