"Childish Life Prologue" is is not a game. It's an advertisement for a product called "The Boy's Life". The Boy's Life is just a garbage tier 2D retro pixel top down "adventure" game with a lame horror theme, and given this advert for it is a bug riddled mess that can't even be played though to the end of the advert, it's highly unlikely the developer will even be able to complete "The Boy's Life" to a working standard. But this isn't completely relevant because this is not The Boy's Life, it's just an advertisment for it, so it's not correct to try to review that completely distinct product. We must instead review this for what it is... an advertisement. If you enjoy advertisements, you can consume them for free on the web or on Youtube without needing to add them to your game library, download them, and then launch the advertising. It's impossible in a general sense to recommend people should do that over playing real, full games on Steam, and that applies here with "Childish Life Prologue" too. Usually the purpose of these advertisements is to get you to shell out money to the developer to buy the full product, but the developer hasn't bothered actually making a product …

Childish Life Prologue is a simple, spooky and cute adventure horror game, so then the story. A young girl named Xiao Yi wakes up in a hospital, she has no memory of how she got here, all she knows is she must escape and get home. The likes, the pixel graphics art style is very good, has a good use of color, animation, shading and textures especially when it comes to character an enemy design. The levels are good, with a little bit of diversity, even those a lot of scenery is repeatedly used it's spaced out and set up in a way that each looks different so it does not get boring. I especially like the nursery as it’s a good contrast to the run down Hospital being both cute and creepy at the same time. The enemies/monsters are all very good each one has their own creepy and spooky look and sounds, my favorite are the nurses in the nursery levels, the way they rise up with their bones cracking and those adorable yet spooky sounds they make it was quite haunting. The gameplay was good it's basically you go around collecting keys in order to open a door, but as you progress it gets a bit harder with enemies and traps, but your also given two power-ups like the ability to do a supe…

cute lil free game, I like the cat mechanic tho I stopped playing cause it got very hard

So I've seen an letsplay of this game and played it myself for a bit, and I have to agree with other people on the text sfx, it's a bit distracting and can pull you out of the story, but otherwise, the sound design is really good.

I honestly ADORE the art style for this game. It's absolutely gorgeous! And I appreciate their unique way of doing puzzles. I hope so badly that we eventually get more games from the developer! I'd easily and happily pay :)
