Missing Children excels at creating an oppressive, creepy atmosphere with a strong sense of dread and minimal jumpscares, which Chilla's Art fans consistently praise as the game's standout feature. However, players note the plot remains underdeveloped for most of the experience, the story can feel more depressing than genuinely scary, and some encounter technical issues like freezing and mouse sensitivity problems, though the short one-to-two hour runtime makes it a low-commitment experience that works better as atmospheric dread than traditional horror.
! Review – Missing Children (Chilla's Art) As you can probably tell from my username, I'm a huge Chilla's Art fan, and "Missing Children" is another game that reminded me why I love their work so much. The biggest highlight for me was the atmosphere. The game creates a constant sense of unease without relying on cheap jump scares. Every moment of the investigation kept me on edge, giving me that chilling feeling that Chilla's Art games are so good at delivering. The story follows Sato, a detective investigating the disappearance of three children. As the investigation unfolds, we learn that each child was dealing with difficult circumstances, including bullying, neglect, and troubled family lives. These struggles ultimately lead them toward a tragic fate, while Sato is also haunted by the loss of her own son, creating a strong emotional parallel. Depending on your choices and whether you complete the optional investigations, you can unlock either the bad ending or the good ending. Another thing I really appreciated is how accessible both the endings and the achievements are. Getting 100% completion doesn't require multiple frustrating playthroughs or overly complicated …1 found this helpful

More depressing than anything, only the "bad" ending is quite creepy. That being said, as with all Chilla's Art games, the atmosphere here is on point. Really nicely done which makes for an unnerving experience playing through it. The game has a pretty interesting storyline, but as I mentioned here it is mostly just very depressing. It is a good game, very short at around 1 hour for full completion. But, if you are a fan of Chilla's Art, for sure its worth it.1 found this helpful
Enjoyed this so much I played twice for the bad and the good ending. I like that this is a slice of life and children do go missing, bullying is a huge issue and children can be neglected. I thought they pretty much nailed this in how things can happen. Another good Chilla's art game.
The villains are the parents actually in these cases. I’m being sarcastic. It still depends on the situation.
Fun game with a solid horror atmosphere!
