Choice or Fate is a small-scale role-playing adventure that places player decisions at the center of its experience. Developed and published by Maksim Kolesnikov, it sends the protagonist into the dangerous world of Ennerd without immediately explaining why they have arrived there. The mystery surrounding this situation provides the motivation to explore, interact with the inhabitants, fight enemies, and gradually determine what role the protagonist will play in the world's future. Rather than presenting a completely fixed journey, the game revolves around the possibility of saving Ennerd, destroying it, or discovering another path through the choices made during the adventure. Сюжет, хоть и начинается довольно типично с попаданца, быстро набирает обороты, предлагая игроку сложные моральные дилеммы, от которых напрямую зависит будущее персонажей и всего мира. Рисовка приятная, хоть и без особых изысков, а вот музыкальное сопровождение отлично дополняет атмосферу происходящего. Больше всего меня зацепила нелинейность повествования. Каждый выбор действительно имеет последствия, и порой даже мелкое решение может обернуться неожиданным поворотом. Количество концовок впечатляет, и для получения "истинной" концовки придется проявить смекалку и не бояться рисковать. Из минусов могу отметить некоторую затянутость в середине игры и порой слишком быстрый переход от одной сцены к другой. Тем не менее, это не критично и не портит общее впечатление. Рекомендую 'Choice or Fate' всем любителям интерактивных историй с глубоким сюжетом и сложными решениями. Готовьтесь к тому, что ваши выборы будут преследовать вас еще долго после завершения игры.

Choice or Fate is one of hundreds of low effort retro-pixel RPG Maker asset/construction kit flips spamming the Steam catalog, made with the RPG Maker video game construction kit... in their own words, "Our easy to use tools are simple enough for a child." Like all RPG Maker "games", this is essentially a bunch of low quality/canned assets from RPG Maker coupled with a cringeworthy high school anime club fan fiction. This godawful RPG Maker asset flip is in Russian, but don't worry, you're not missing anything. The high school anime fan club reject fanfiction writing is so generic it's painful... the protagonist, probably just the "developer" writing himself into the story is transported to a magical world full of RPG Maker asset flipped monsters! Even preschoolers would roll their eyes at how banal that plot concept is. And it's all downhill from there. As with all RPG Maker games, the poor quality engine displays badly in fullscreen and doesn't have full HD support or any graphics tweaking options, making this unacceptable for any dedicated modern PC gamer.
