Takes an hour to reach one of the main endings. It’s an acceptable story but not as exciting as the first game set in the Middle Ages. You make choices every 1-2 sentences, it’s like reading a story outline and deciding on all the small and big things. Sometimes it asks whether you want to dance after seeing an emergency or stay alert, what do you even say to that? Sometimes all the answers feel vague and the same like when you’re in a cave and asked if you want to go straight, left or right. There are a few key story turning points that change your fate starting from chapter 2, but most of the other choices are just about gaining or losing hearts or materials or collecting new titles for achievements. The story involves shipwrecks, pirates, animals, invaders, native people etc. I feel it lacks a strong core to hold everything together, it’s hard to tell what is the main story and what is the side content with all the locations and events, like the writer is trying to surprise the player but the story isn’t strong, many elements don’t always make a story more colorful they can make it disconnected. Besides, the characters are unlikeable. From chapter 3 onward I stopped caring abo…

Probably the best game in the CoL series.

I read a review describing this game as a "guilty pleasure", and I think that's such a perfect description of Choice of Life: Wild Island. This choose-your-own-adventure CARDS interactive novel is just about the perfect way to spend a couple of hours of instant fun in the tropical wilds. I played it during downtime on vacation in the Florida Keys, when I wanted something cozy, with a good sense of pirate-y humor, and a sun-drenched Caribbean setting. An entertaining story with lots of narrative branches and replayability, instead of a longer game, so I could play it again if I wished, or abandon it like Fire-Hair Guy on his Swiss Robinson Island, if I so wanted. I ended up having so much fun that I tried to get several other endings (I found 5 of 10). My only complaint is the lack of a complete English walkthrough online; I’d love to see every branching path! So there you go: Great humor, a pirate‑y theme, strong replay value and a fair price. Huge seal of approval! FOR THIS AND MORE ADVENTURE GAMES My Steam Curator Page: https://store.steampowered.com/curator/43938467-TheGamingMom/

The game is interesting and has potential, but the poor translation and bad use of words make this game a pain to understand and play. Some decisions that you have available make no sense. The art shows that you have boots on your feet, but you get hurt by spikes that you stepped on with bare feet? Full of inconsistencies like these. Advice: Hire better translators.
