"Citizens: Far Lands - Prologue" is not a game. It's an advertisement for a product called "Citizens: Far Lands". Citizens: Far Lands is an unsuccessful low poly "city builder" strategy game that dramatically overshot the developers capacity to deliver, and landed on Steam with an at-best lukewarm reception, to the point there's just a handful of people bothering to play it every other day or so. But this isn't completely relevant because this is not Citizens: Far Lands, it's just an advertisment for it, so it's not correct to try to review that completely distinct product. We must instead review this for what it is... an advertisement. If you enjoy advertisements, you can consume them for free on the web or on Youtube without needing to add them to your game library, download them, and then launch the advertising. It's impossible in a general sense to recommend people should do that over playing real, full games on Steam, and that applies here with "Citizens: Far Lands - Prologue" too. This is a very fun and relaxing game to play. It gradually increases in population and buildings as you go from island to island. it;s very relaxing to play. I absolutely loved the game. Can't wait till the full version comes out!

6/10 A turn-based puzzle / village builder TLDR: The idea of the game to place lumber mills, quarries, farms and such to reach and eventually clear resource patches is interesting. Yet the implementation is mediocre because of uninspired looks. And also the strange design decision to have it all work with super-precise manual placements and the physics engine. Standard hex tiles and maybe even 2D instead of 3D graphics would probably work better. Good: - the core idea of clearing an island from trees, stones and deer to then place orchards and farms is interesting - music is relaxing - free (prologue) So-so: - graphics are low-poly 3D and seem to be targeting mobile? Still, even with this low-polygon no-texture look, the game was lagging on my 5 year old Asus Zenbook 6 laptop. Anyways, the overall looks are pretty shabby. And it's not just the low-poly models but also the dull color palette. I guess the game is still in development and uses stub art for the UI(?), so the UI looks pretty bad (for now?) - minor English imperfections here and there. A native speaker of English should proofread it Bad: - the game is 3D and physic-based, not tile-based. So e.g. you can rotate a 3D b…
