Fun retro platform combat will cool 80 aesthetic, so if that's your thing this game is recommended! Recent QoL tweaks have improved the user experience a wee bit too. Play can be initially challenging, but you can tweak the difficulty to slide between casual play and genuine old school brutality. Character unlocks change the game up quite a bit. The look is cool, the music goes hard and the voice acting is of unexpectedly high quality!
I had an absolute blast with Clawpunk. The gameplay is fast and fun, the combat feels snappy and offers a good challenge, and the punk vibe keeps the action coming. The soundtrack is a standout and really adds to the atmosphere, chaos and keeps the energy high. Great if you want speedy action with lots of punk personality.
I was a big fun of Kickback Slug so wishlisted Clawpunk despite not being a huge gamer. I found the gameplay to be very simple, even for a beginner, and the chaos in the game makes it incredibly fun! I haven't unlocked any trophies yet but am looking forward to playing longer to complete as much as I can. The characters are great fun and the voices are amazing - is one of them Greg Sestero from The Room..?
I tried to play this game on my steam deck, emphasis on tried. The sprites are too small and don't stand out well from the background until you're right next to them.
I was looking for a fun little game to play on my handheld without killing the battery, and ended up getting way more than I expected. As you play, you earn currency to expand your Clawdex, unlocking new characters, upgrade cards and weapons that give you more ways to push through the stages. The starting character is fast and agile and reminded me of platformers like Celeste, but this game is not about rushing to the end. Most of your score comes from causing as much chaos as possible. Unlocking my second cat Banshee really sold me on the game. Each cat feels different and forces you to play in a new way. Banshee has a strong long range attack but a short dash, which made me slow down and play smarter compared to the first cat where I was just zooming straight into enemies. Overall, I am really impressed. The levels feel varied and fresh with new challenges and enemies to contest with, and it honestly feels like a new and fun take on platformers.
I learned about Clawpunk on yt shorts and decided to wishlist it. i finally had the chance to play it and i can confidently say this game is amazing! The art style is super cool, the concept is refreshingly creative, the background music is absolutely peak and the characters are full of personality! I found the levels pretty challenging (it's a good thing, i love challenging games!) but that's probably just a skill issue of mine lol, someone with more experience in pc gaming will most likely find the game much easier. Anyways 100% recommended game, the devs did such a good job! I'm definitely gonna spend hundreds if not thousands of hours in this game :3
