About CodeX

From the Diary:The days go by and I keep getting stuck here. Again and again and again...
Why do I keep making mistakes somewhere? Everything is merging but I won't give up on you...

Play a scientist in this FPP Adventure Game. Explore the Mansion over and over again and learn from your mistakes. Can you escape time? It will be the most difficult task you have ever undertaken and...Nobody will Hold your Hand!
CodeX is an atmospheric adventure game that doesn't have any hints, in-game marker, quest log or savepoint.

The story is told through Environmental Storytelling and the player has to find out for himself how to progress by using or moving objects and solving small puzzles......will you play? will you understand?
Important note from the developer:This game is for all those who are tired of today's games showing everything, using markers, waypoints everywhere etc. even for the simplest things. For everyone who wants to enjoy and discover a game themselves and doesn't want to be guided by the hand about what to do and where to go...This game require very high pc specs, please do not buy if your pc does not meet the minimum requirements

Features

  • Environmental Storytelling
  • Thrilling Story
  • Atmospheric Gameplay
  • No Savepoint
  • No In-Game Marker How To Progress
  • No Game Over or Time Pressure
This game is probably the worlds hardest adventure game! Are you ready?

Non-existent optimization and lack of clues don’t make this game fun. You play someone who’s exploring a house that’s going through renovation. I assume you’re one of the workers. True, the game claims not to hold your hand, but it goes too far. You have no idea what you're supposed to be doing. Even getting inside a house is difficult since you have to move some pots and baskets around to get the key. It doesn't get much better as you walk into the house. There's things all around the place, and you're expected to go through every room and look for anything that could be useful. Through pure chance, I was able to make some progress. I opened a couple doors, turned on the generator, and now I'm stuck with three cogs. I searched the house and could find only one. Because there are no savepoints, you must complete the game in a single run. If you get stuck and don't have time to spare, you'll have to start from the beginning next time. Sadly, optimization is nowhere to be found. I dropped everything to the lower possible setting and I could barely get 15-20fps. Regardless of the settings, the game was wasting all available resources. Indie games should be accessible to as many g…

I finished CodeX and I it is probably the next hate it or loved it game. If you like hard puzzle adventure games, check it out and you won't be dissapointed. Yes, it's can be sometimes very hard and you probably get stuck but it is also very satisfying if you finally progress further and beat the game by your own. You're playing as a former scientist, trying to figure out what happend. Find keys, start a generator, open doors, assemble a device... It took me around 3 hours to finish the game. You cannot save your progress but once you figured out where all the necessary items are (the game area is not very big), you can recatch in a minute after restart, I've also finished it in 2 game sessions. It also looks like the game have some different endings, I will replay it and try to figure it out how to get the second ending which probably is the true one. If you are not scared to get stuck, enjoy solving hard adventure games and have a good pc at least with an rtx graphics (it runs well on my 2080) give it a try, it is a fresh touch for only a few bucks.

This is the old-style adventure game with recent graphic. At the beginning I was surprised that there is no introduction to history, and no dialogues. But after some time spent with this game I found this is the advantage of this production. The story was told witout any word, and was being still developing when I was discovering new rooms and locations. This game is hard comparing to productions from recent years, but it holds similar difficulty level to games from '90. This is good for me, becouse I was grow up on old adventure games from Lucas Arts, Sierra etc. When playing this game you can "stuck" for a while and searching for soluton and it can take some time... but it is a feature of old type adventure game. There is no violance, and gamaplay is slow, cozy. This causes that game can be played by children. It can be good idea to show young people how games might looks like without any hints and without leading by hand. Graphic is very beautiful, and sound is nice - you can hear calming music sometimes. If you like adventure games from '90 this is the game for you.

I barely got into this one. Wasn't sure what to do. The door to the mansion wouldn't open and there wasn't much to interact with outside of it besides plant pots. Not a good sign early on. May come back to it eventually. Gameplay Impressions: https://youtu.be/z63kJibbrkU

It's not easy to judge this game, Very nice graphics and calm gameplay are adventages of this game, Intresting story also, but difficulty level is very high. I've passed the game few times, but it was impossible for me to find the right code at the end ;). Anyway, I recommend this game to you!
