Cold wires is an inventive 2D retro pixel puzzle "platformer" where, instead of the overdone jumping/timing/avoiding mechanics platformers usually use, you control an alien/robot sphere with three "grappling hooks" that you place by clicking with the mouse. Your "body" moves in relation to the placement of the grappling hooks. Position yourself quickly to kill enemy soldiers by touching them, but also avoid spikes and other obstacles. Kill the soldiers and you can collect a battery to end the level and move onto the next. While the game design is unique and refreshing and works modestly well, the retro pixel graphics are sub-par. Controls are fixed (but it's no issue using the mouse). Resolution and graphics are fixed and can't be changed, thus falling beneath minimum standard for any PC game, but the game does run in full screen. It would be nice to see this game remade with proper graphics. Overall the quality is too low here to successfully carry the unique premise for the game.2 found this helpful
Short and sweet. This movement mechanic was new to me, but it worked well and intuitively. If you like the look of it from the trailer, it will work for you. Bonus: very light to download. Worth the low price.1 found this helpful
