About CRABS MUST DIE!
CRABS MUST DIE! — open-world shooter with some RPG vibes and a whole lot of crabs.
Think your favorite sci-fi post-apocalyptic action-RPG — just 100 times smaller. A compact, love-made open-world adventure by one solo dev, with zero budget and lots of passion for the genre. What You Can Expect:
6–7 hours of open-world gameplay — starring crabs, raiders, meat-hungry zombies, and totally deranged robots. Your weapons? A trusty shotgun and a cold bottle of beer.- 🦀 Variety of EnemiesEveryone wants you dead, so shoot first. Some charge straight at you, others shoot from a distance, and some just explode right under your feet. You’ll figure it out.
- 🏜️ Some Kind of Open WorldThere’s places. Some of them aren’t full of crabs. You can explore if you feel like it. Ride your half-broken bike or just walk. There are a few quests, a bit of story, some odd radio tunes (including classical and oldies), and plenty of junk to loot and turn into ammo.
- 🔫 Perks, Guns, Stats.Pick from pistols, assault rifles, shotguns, carbines — maybe even a katana, if you're feeling fancy. Unlock perks, tweak your stats, and hunt down legendary weapon crates. Go melee, try stealth (not recommended, but technically possible), or just shoot everything that moves. You also get active abilities — like summoning a robot buddy who’s almost helpful (on a good day).
Made with the GLORIOUS Unreal Engine 5
Built using the finest game engine known to humanity — Unreal Engine 5. Thanks to Lumen lighting and some black magic, even a solo noob like me managed to make things look surprisingly decent. And yeah — it actually runs pretty well. What Steam players say

Cannot rebind keys, hardcoded to wasd, but guess what, left handed people exists too... So, unplayable for me, great.9 found this helpful
I don't hate it enough to dislike it. It's fun but the combat and movement feels very off and it spends too much time making fun of Todd and all the Bethesda games and not enough time doing anything to keep me invested. Acheivements don't work. I should have 5 of these but I dont1 found this helpful
LOOT EVERYTHING!! Game has a Slow start and it’s a little rough around the edges but once you get your abilities, perks, and modded weapons to your liking it starts getting really fun! Massive map with a lot to explore. Game is far better than I expected it to be. Very addictive. Pick it up on sale you’ll be happy. Tbh I would have been happy with it at full price. If you can get the infinite ammo mod w/life steal/leech on one of your weapons it will help your greatly along your journey.1 found this helpful
Just not fun but good quality. Too many enemies at locations, too much damage to me, no armor to wear to reduce my incoming damage. No way to increase health except by finding glowing beer. Stupid idea. Bucket, pumpkin and those sewer runners fit more into Once Human instead of this. I expected just crabs.. I quit playing. Easiest difficulty but barely seems to matter.
For a solo dev Fallout 4 parody it's solid. I don't see myself coming back to it or finishing it but for what it's doing it does it well.
Good stuff. This is a satire game that is competent enough to be a lot of fun. Trashy in a good way. Loads of fun if you remember to use the quicksave button.
