I'm not a big MC fan, so I'm always looking for a game that LOOKS like MC but with more muscle and a bigger challenge. However, this clone smacks of a college Computer Science project rather than a contender with the major players.

While Craftsman tries its best to imitate the original, it stops at the keyboard commands. 'V' to quit? 'E' to start? The ESC key does nothing, so if you think pressing it will call up the menu so you can escape this nightmare, you'll be sorely disappointed.
TAB opens up the materials window, where you pick your blocks. They are arranged in columns of 3, But I could only access the left column. Pressing all the keys did not offer a clue how to navigate and choose the different blocks. It should not be that difficult!
An issue some might consider a game-breaker is the water. You cannot swim below the surface. While the water moves in a sine wave along solid block walls, the inability to dive below the surface is quite annoying.
I saw no AI, friendly or otherwise.
Last but not least, the draw distance is short. I saw no oceans.
BOTTOM LINE: At .74 cents, Craftsman is a good deal, especially if you ju…

CRAFTSMAN, developed by Boom Team and published by Sweet Games, is a voxel-based sandbox construction game that centers on exploration, resource gathering, and freeform building within a cubic open world. The game clearly draws inspiration from the broader block-building sandbox genre, emphasizing creativity and experimentation rather than story-driven gameplay. Instead of guiding players through a narrative or structured campaign, CRAFTSMAN offers a simple playground where the main objective is to explore the environment, collect materials, and construct whatever structures the player imagines. The experience begins by placing players into a colorful voxel world made entirely of cubic blocks representing terrain, vegetation, and natural resources. From the moment players enter the world, they are given complete freedom to interact with the environment. Trees can be chopped down for wood, stone can be mined from hillsides, and blocks of soil can be removed or reshaped to transform the landscape. This flexible design encourages players to think of the world as a canvas where every element can be modified or repurposed for construction. The gameplay loop revolves around a simple cy…
