This is complete garbage that should not have been released . I've seen demos in better condition than this. The buttons don't work, there's no spawning system, if you die you start the level over, there's no balance, the towers barely fight and can't handle a large number of enemies, the upgrades are terribly expensive, the location of the towers is terrible, the enemies give little gold, you can't boost the speed, the towers are terribly weak. I thought this was a game, but it's complete garbage. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.2 found this helpful
First off let me say that i love TD games, doesnt matter if its easy or hard, pixalated or modern, i love them. Creepwars TD has somewhat a warcraft theme with knights/archers/mages as your defensive units and ogres as the creeps. It features a campaign with 6 maps + plus 1 bonus (thus far). There are 3 different damage types in the game with them being Pierce, Magic and Blunt damage. You need to position your units in such a way to counter the creeps , which in turn they drop gold for you to use to upgrade your units. Personally the most challenging map was number 4, as i needed to figure out how to position my first 3 units so i dont lose in the very first wave. Overall i had fun in the game, will wait for future updates. If you want to see how the game looks and play check my video below: https://youtu.be/N2xKZi18T8U2 found this helpful
Underwhelming, but it all seems to work. So far there seems to be four base towers. The infantry and the mage seem to level up straight twice, the archer can split between better archer and catapult, but the catapult doesn't improve any further. The map is attractive, but feels kind of cramped. There is no pathing, and there are no tactical or strategic options, which is disappointing, however there is a little bit of fluff which is nice. It sits in an odd spot of being not much of a game, yet better than most TD options out there these days. I got it for under two bucks, and that seems about the right price point. One tepid thumb up. ADDENDUM: Finished the campaign in about three hours. There are a handful of 'for fun' levels, might try a few. The thing is buggy, and really feels like the developer got bored and put it out before it was finished. Kind of buggy. (Hate when my ranged units repeated fire at some lamp post or other piece of terrain that blocks it, when it could be firing at actual units.) The bottom line however is that games live and die on the options the player has, and this one doesn't have many. Worth it when on a deep sale, for a little bit of fun, not much…1 found this helpful
I've purchased this title during a sale since I saw that the developer cares after 5 years with an update. 5YEARS! As a TD it's kind of average. The monsters are broken up into light armor, medium armor and heavy armor, so you have to plan for each stage depending on their armor. The environmental art is top notch, as well as the music. Passion project. https://steamcommunity.com/groups/towerdefensegamesrated
I love the art style and theme, but the game offers very little content and strategy options. Only a handful of different towers and limited points on the maps you can place them, offer very limited ways to play the game. I like tower defense with a little more freedom and options to fit ones prefered playstyle. Early economy also leaves little room for error. Interface is OK but misses a few things like clicking the minimap to scroll to that part of the map. I was defeated at 3rd level with actually no clue what I could've done better, so I'd say this game isn't very friendly to a more casual playstyle. Menus and options are very basic. I wish I could display enemy health bars for example, a feature most tower defense games have. Art style is amazing though, absolutely love it, but doesn't quite make up for the flaws in the gameplay IMO.
Would be a pretty good game if it worked properly, but this one was not ready to leave early access. The bugs are ever frequent and some are game breakers.
