Criminal Expert

It's hard to fully recommend this game, and I bounced back and forth for several minutes before deciding that you should TRY this game, IF you're into FMV detective games. Pros: Interesting crime, decent acting, and the bouncing between evidence in a timed environment can be fun. Cons: There's no replaying anything, and when you die, you go back to the beginning. Skipping dialogue and cutscenes either take too long, or aren't allowed, and this game expects you to play it MANY TIMES to get all the clues, endings, details, etc. It doesn't explain to you the gameplay, and the first time I played I had no idea that some interviews or phone calls are time sensitive to your choices. There is however a fantastic formula here, and I think we some refinement and listening to their audience, this developer may have an interesting series on their hands.

I don't understand all the negative comments, this game is great. I really enjoy playing it so far. IRL you are not hand fed any clues, motives or evidence. One has to work everything out for themselves. It is not too difficult to understand what is going on. Give the game a chance. It is not perfect but it is a good mind puzzler.

Lame. Unoriginal, appears to be a non-heartfelt copy and paste... a random solitaire game that might crash on you, when it unexpectedly tries to use powershell... a random "create a free comic book, and likely ideas from others. I wished I had played this earlier. Certainly a refund candidate.

Interesting, but the game design is just killing it. Like you have 3 hour time limit? Why can't I interact with the game in my own space? Interrogations lack of immersion. The actor said one line, then a full black screen where you can choose your answer, then another one-liner and a black screen again

A cute little detective game if you set your expectations low in terms of the ability to solve the crime through good detective work. I bought this during the detective game sale because I like to play point-and-click games while I eat. Big mistake with this game, as while it's a point-and-click game with FMVs, you're on a timer starting after you complete the first piece of detective work. I'm grading this on a curve assuming that this is a small studio that's newer at games. If this were a huge studio, I would grade it poorly for all of the mistakes it makes and frustrations it brings, but I always lean on the side of, "If this is just a few people working together, then this is an amazing accomplishment." First of all, it's not in English. That explains the most generic title ever written, the weird translations (I always love when a character talks for 10 seconds and it just says two words in English—you know more was said than that), and the increased difficulty when playing the game because you need to learn little things like how they format location names in other countries.
