About Crimson Glaive Sigma

"Salutations!" These are the first words you ever hear, and possibly the last.

In this 2D platformer/metroidvania-like science fiction adventure you will traverse a strange space station looking for an escape. Your only guide is the hologram of an old man, insisting you move forward.

Fight your way through intense bullet hell sequences using nothing but a levitating cannon and a jet pack. Jump and dodge to safety in situations where your reflexes are all that stands between you and your demise! Expand your arsenal and abilities to deal with whatever might come your way. There is an army standing between you and freedom. All you need to do is persevere.
  • Explore interconnected levels, learning the lay of the land!
  • Find weapons to decimate your foes.
  • Adapt to a wide array of threats and obstacles.
  • Fight and destroy every boss you come across.
  • Seek out answers as to why you are trapped in the furthest reaches of outer space and come to term with your existence.

Welcome to Crimson Glaive Sigma! Nobody has ever left the station alive. Will you?

✦ AI summary

Players praise this game as a well-designed metroidvania with satisfying combat, fluid movement mechanics, and a retro PS1-era aesthetic that improves significantly as you gain upgrades. The main complaints center on the brutal difficulty, basic visuals, and serviceable music, though most agree the challenging but fair gameplay is rewarding once you adapt to its unique controls and demanding pace.

This is really cool giving a lot of feeling of early PS1 era games and definitely gives off a strong feeling, shooting moving and the layout of areas all feel great and give a good flow and the story definitely has potential to go to cool places from what I've played so far!

This neat little metroidvania is surprisingly good for a one-man project. There's a lot about it that might initially put you off; the visuals are pretty basic, the music is serviceable at best, and the early-game movement can feel a little clunky. However, once you start getting your hands on more movement upgrades and weapons, and you really get into the flow of combat, it starts to feel really good! As of this review I have not finished the game, but from my early impressions I would highly recommend picking this up.

This is a really fun bullet hell. Insanely difficult, but I have a lot of fun trying not to die every 30 seconda (if that). Really brutal, really retro, really fun.

This game is BRUTAL but fair. a two dimensional explorative platformer with good mobility and quite a unique button layout. it is heavily advised taking your first steps with caution and to not rush into it, otherwise the game will get chaotic real quick.
