Crimson Oath

Has very good combat, bosses, and nostalgic feel, but it didn't quite manage to cover up the flaws of this game. And while I enjoyed it for the most of my time with it, the last area felt like a stretch, where the game unfortunately overstayed its welcome. At least in my opinion. I definitely wouldn't say the game is bad because of it, I mean, they managed to mesh basically all soulsborne games + Thymesia into one, and make it work, but I would have a higher opinion on the game if the final zone was either more intuitive to navigate (I spent like 1 and half an hour looping around because the two optional paths were more visible than the absolutely hidden away main path in one part), or was just much shorter. But for an indie soulslike I'd still say it's good. If you don't mind some jank, definitely try it

This is a weird one. Felt like Crimson Oath has most of their elements similar other souls games. For example, the environment and sound effects are much like dark souls 1. The enemy movement (the way they walk/approach you) sometimes felt identical to Enotria. The combat felt like I was again playing Thymesia. The dialogues were absolute garbage though, literally felt like some high school students gave the voiceovers. The ending should have been better too. All that being said, I did enjoy the game. The boss fights were challenging and fun. So, I would recommend it. [6.5/10]

Really enjoyed this game a lot! Fun linear soulslike that has some challenging boss fights. Typical souls game where you keep leveling up your character and improving your skills to defeat all enemies.

A very solid game. Issues are minimal but It's great for the price. Challenging but not undoable. Worth the purchase if you're a person who's trying to get into souls games. They could do something about the Neyman boss though. 2 hours on him. Not even close to getting his 2nd phase

Be cautious with purchasing this one I finished up to the first map at 2hrs played it on hard but didnt notice a difficulty spike until a boss area the regular enemies dont really mob its set up mostly as singular fights which are for the most part easy. But for the bosses there is a jump they do heavy pressure so if u wish to do continuous damage you will have to parry a lot but you'll have time to heal if you backoff. As a heavy parry focused game best to avoid if thats not ur style. Tbh im iffy on keeping the purchase bought it at $10 but feels like a six dollar game since the enemies dont have any life to them (stand still same position) so other enemies dont get alert much when youre fighting one. Also only one weapon throughout the game but youll have two abilities at a time while gaining more as you progress but its mainly just combat focused old classic souls feel with using ur skill for the occasional different attack this is mainly for the genre enthusiast than a hidden gem as described by others

Reminds me of Sekiro. Very good for the developer team size
