About Cy: Cyberpunk Survivors
RETRO ARCADE MADNESS MEETS SLEEK POST-APOCALYPTIC THRILL RIDE
Cy is a psionic superhero on a mission to save the last, scattered remnants of humanity. She is battling alone against hordes of zombies, mutants, and killer robots with only her ever-evolving mental powers to protect her. Will she survive the sinister onslaught or is she destined to become just another victim of an evil, unfathomable intelligence?
Cy is an exciting retro, roguelite arcade shooter with crunchy pixel-art graphics that's sure to get the dopamine flowing. It's inspired by Vampire Survivors and other casual, bullet heaven, roguelite, survivor-likes (Spellbook: Demonslayers, Rogue Genesia, and Nomad Survival are some other faves), ancient arcade classics such as Robotron 2084, and the upgrade system is influenced by action RPGs (like the Diablo series, Grim Dawn, and Last Epoch). Unlike other offerings in the genre, instead of a choice of random ability upgrades available when leveling up, the player has full control of how Cy's stats will develop. You can also unlock your choice of starting powers.

The full release features 4 levels and 6 of Cy's 7 planned powers. I will create an "endless mode" that adds an additional level and the final power when time allows.Thank you for supporting indie games!

I backed this game on Kickstarter, because it reminded me of some bullet hell games I played back in the 90s, mixed with the persistent upgrade system of the "Survivors" genre. I also like to support indie devs with a vision ;) This game is fast paced and hard. I just played a few rounds and died a lot... but I also had my first permanent level up after a few minutes. I love the art style and the music is great! As this is an early access game I am not complaining about some of the design decisions like the huge "quit" button on the game over screen or lack of keyboard/mouse support (WASD not working, no key binding possible). I hope the dev fixes this in the final version. If you like bullet hell shooters and "Survivors" games, you should give this a try! EDIT: played some hours now ... ugh. well, the progress is super slow and permanent upgrades are really expensive. I'm still stuck in the first area. on top of that the gameplay is sometimes unfair: red enemies on red backgrounds, super fast enemies that you can only avoid using the booster... and sometimes I'm dying without knowing why (is the green glow of monsters bad? I seem to insta-die when I touch it). I think this sti…4 found this helpful
i really enjoyed the first 60 minutes of the game. it was great. the art style is really great and the feel of the game is amazing. i really enjoyed taking out hordes of enemies and upgrading my character. but after these 60 minutes is when the game really starts to fall apart. the game starts feeling grindy and repetitive. you really need alot of focus to beat a level. the game isn't really that hard but the only thing that makes it challenging is the length of the levels. its kinda hard to survive for 10 minutes. because there is so many opportunities for you to get killed. and then it just repeats. play for a while, get killed, and repeat until the grinding is done so you can beat the level. the game is really satisfying and has good feel and i recommend you giving it a try, but it has some issues. BTW the sound design is also great.1 found this helpful
Likely abandoned, the style doesn't make up for the lackluster and grindy gameplay
Simplistic fun! Exhilarating! Futuristic! I like that it's playable with one hand on the mouse. This allows my other trembling hand free to sip tea and calm my nerves as I try my damnedest to escape the hordes of post-apocalyptic creatures; knowing that this is the fate of future generations. This game shall be passed down to insure it becomes part of our DNA structure so that our offspring may have a fleeting chance. RUN!
This game is a fun take on the Vampire Survivors genre. There are many ways to upgrade your player, both for offensive and defensive skills. There are a TON of enemies, but I was unable to study them because I was constantly running for my life. The starting skill level is higher than I prefer. As for my recommendations on how to improve the game, Level 1 should only include a subset of enemies so the player can start out safely and learn how to play the game without feeling like they were dropped into the final level of Diablo. A slower progression will feel more natural and lead to longer play sessions and less frustrated players giving up. Overall, great job and I look forward to seeing what else you create!
This is a great time, looking forward to being good one day.
