About Dark Fall 2: Lights Out
Three men once manned the lighthouse on Fetch Rock, but they vanished without trace on New Year, 1900. No-one knows what really happened to those three poor souls, and no-one is brave enough to stay in the lighthouse, alone, after dark. Except you...travel to Fetch Rock Island, and discover what really happened...
Use supernatural investigative techniques and realistic ghost hunting gadgets to reveal the evil presence that threatens Fetch Rock. Together you must defeat the evil that hides in the mist and uncover the mystery of Lights Out.
The game is best played in a dark room with your speakers turned up. Unless you're scared, of course.
Many lives have been lost on the lethal rocks surrounding the harbour town of Trewarthan. Mysteriously, a thick fog covers the land and the silence is shattered by the sound of ghastly foghorn. Suddenly, the faithful light of Fetch Rock Lighthouse is plunged into darkness.
‘Fetch’ is the old English word for ‘ghost’; The old lighthouse is built upon something ancient and terrible, causing manifestations, time distortions and unexplainable paranormal events. Only by jumping through time, from the ancient Bronze Age to a futuristic research base, will you be able to uncover what is really happening on fetch Rock. Was your arrival upon the Island, that foggy night, really coincidence, or is someone, or something calling to you, across time.

This game! I was so unprepared for how cool it was! It was not at all what I expected, but was better actually. I finished this game weeks ago and forgot to review immediately, but I've been thinking about it ever since I finished. Crazy concept. I actually started playing the Dark Fall games in an attempt to find something that could satiate the Nancy Drew game desire I have. These games are good, but not necessarily similar to Nancy. They have far less structure to them, which can be confusing at times to figure out what you're meant to do next, especially if you gloss over something written or don't keep your own notepad handy to write down everything you learn (still no in-game notes or tasklist). But the plot was interesting (the ending was a bit... abrupt? Confusing? I wish it had been explained better) and I liked the few nods back to the first game, which I also wasn't expecting. All in all, great game. Really great follow up to the first. Definitely needed a walkthrough though.2 found this helpful
Dark Fall II: Lights Out is a quietly ambitious psychological horror adventure that builds on the foundations of the first Dark Fall while pushing its ideas in stranger and more cerebral directions. Developed by Darkling Room and published by THQ Nordic on Steam, the game embraces a deliberately slow, investigative pace, asking the player to engage with mystery, atmosphere, and abstract storytelling rather than overt scares or action. It is a game that demands patience and attention, rewarding those willing to immerse themselves fully in its lonely, unsettling world. The story places you in the role of Benjamin Parker, a cartographer sent to survey the Cornish coastline in 1912. What begins as a routine assignment quickly transforms into a haunting investigation centered on the disappearance of three lighthouse keepers at the remote Fetch Rock Lighthouse. From the moment you arrive, isolation is palpable. The lighthouse stands battered by wind and sea, cut off from the mainland, and steeped in an oppressive silence that suggests something deeply wrong. Rather than presenting a straightforward ghost story, the narrative unfolds gradually through journals, notes, recordings, and env…2 found this helpful
I'd hate to say that it's simply more of the same, but it is. Still, it's a new scenario and freshens things up. If you do like the first game, which you should play first, this one just gives you more to sink your teeth into.1 found this helpful
Really Enjoyed the game though it needs some real Horror1 found this helpful
Very recommended. A good second entry in the Dark Fall series. It has a very good and compelling story with a good dark atmosphere. Brace yourself for a real challenge though, cause the game can get very cryptic at times and suffers from some of the issues and limitations of it's time. But if you like old school adventure games you'll enjoy this one.1 found this helpful
BE WARNED ALL YE WHO ENTER IN THE YEAR OF OUR LORD 2025 AND BEYOND. Please be aware this is the DIRECTOR'S CUT and all written walkthroughs I could find DO NOT APPLY. I will explain as best I can without spoiling. This is a solid game and for $2, you cannot go wrong, but there are a few frustrating and unavoidable differences that make no sense, between the director's cut and the original. If you require a walkthough I recommend googling "Dark Fall 2 Lights Out Director's Cut" and finding the most recent Youtube video you can. Because: 1. The start of the game is EXTREMELY PERSNICKETY and you absolutely MUST interact with every single thing you can. Your walkthrough, like mine, may offer a save file to get the game rolling for you if you cannot advance from the starting zone. This WILL NOT WORK. For me, I had to look at a random map of a railway. Then it let me move to the first area. Really!? I'm at a lighthouse why do I need to know my railways!? (spoiler: you don't do anything relating to railways). 2. Random things have been changed from the original to the DC for no obvious reason. For instance, certain things do not happen until later than you may believe. Certain…1 found this helpful
