About darkcase : the basement

This is a horror game where you play as a ghosthunter investigating paranormal darkcases. This time you got hired by an old couple to investigate their new house.

A little girl was murdered in that house many years ago, some locals around the area say the place is haunted. The new owners had seen a girl roaming around the house, especially in the basement.

You need to stay there for one night and survive with your equipment and cameras to clean the house from any ghost or unwanted spirits.

darkcase : the basement is a low rent ripoff of Five Nights at Freddies, only considerably worse in all respects. It's a jumpscare platespinner slapped together badly with the craptastic ClickTeam Fusion no-code construction kit. Gameplay consists of looking at cameras and making sure your battery is charged... keep those plates spinning, because if you don't, you get a jumpscare then you are rewarded with the game ending. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. The game features static 2D imagery with barely any animations... it might as well be a Flash or browser game, so it doesn't hold up against real PC games. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. Some of the defects in the game can be attributed to the choice of using the Clickteam Fusion game engine/toolset - the "No-C…

Darkcase: The Basement is an indie horror title developed by TrerPlay and published by Edco Games that centers on a familiar but effective supernatural mystery. The game places players in the role of a paranormal investigator hired to examine a house haunted by the spirit of a young girl who was murdered years ago. According to local rumors, her ghost still roams the property, especially the basement where the tragic event occurred. This simple premise serves as the foundation for a horror experience that focuses on suspense, observation, and survival rather than action-heavy gameplay. What makes the game stand out is its commitment to maintaining a constant feeling of unease. Rather than overwhelming players with frequent encounters, it builds tension through anticipation. The isolated house setting works well because it creates a sense of confinement, making every unexplained sound or visual disturbance feel significant. The basement itself becomes a symbol of the mystery at the heart of the story, encouraging players to continue investigating while simultaneously making them dread what they might discover. This balance between curiosity and fear is one of the game's strongest q…

Not too terrible, and anyone who is a FNAF fan will pick up the gameplay pretty quickly. It does have a couple issues, like the ghost doesn't seem to follow the rules they give you... I did find myself having to start over no matter how far I got time-wise, so I'm not sure what the continue button is for... of course, I'm a noob, and maybe I didn't figure out how to save? Anyway, it's still worth trying out, and I would recommend it. Here's some gameplay: https://youtu.be/WUEOEG7swG0

Almost gave up on the game about 18 minutes in and then read the TIPS article and gave it another try. Yes it was scary, frustrating, but I made it through. For only a dollar I think it was worth it. If you don't want a spoiler then don't watch this video. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSrpO5VI6Co
