DDI Rally Championship

I really want to like this game, but like the other game by this developer Super Retro GP the handling model is awful. I even tried turning the steering sensitivity down and the car is still way too twitchy, feels like like I'm guiding a piece of paper instead of driving a heavy rally car. The game looks phenomenal but handles so poorly it's sad to see and the other game mentioned is about the same too.

the handling is so far removed from Sega Rally...Its just using some default physics from the engine it was made in. Just get Car Park Rally (or whatever its called) instead....that has carefully crafted handling. This feels like a re-tuned asset store driving pack or something.

There's a ton of retro rally games and while this one looks really cool in the video's game play way it is way down there. Cars have no weight, flow breaking prop placements. graphical glitches. Some people here say it plays like Sega Rally, it absolutely does not, not even close. It's in early access but there hasn't been an update in over a year so i wouldn't hold my breath If you want a fun retro Rally game go for Rush Rally 3 https://store.steampowered.com/app/2020860/Rush_Rally_3/

The idea of this game seemed great - I loved the Sega rally games back in the day on the Sega Saturn and it seemed like a homage to them and some QoL features, sadly it didn't turn out to be this way. The game is in early access, so I expected it to not be perfect and some things to iron out over time but it's a bit early for Early Access really, which is a shame. I found that the FPS can tank and that the controls are delayed, which became frustrating - after 30 minutes, I wanted to exit the game and not play further. The FPS/graphics side would be acceptable in Early Access, but the controls is not sorted yet which needs to be top priority. Hopefully in a years time the issues will be ironed out and this will be a good game to play, fingers crossed! EDIT for the Dev: Thanks for getting back to me, when running the game, I was running it on a 4070ti Super with a Ryzen 5 7600 CPU (APU disabled) and 32GB ram, it's not going to be a resource issue for sure. I do have a laptop with a 4060 aswell, but it was not tested on there. Shockingly amateurish for a $12 game. Car handling is miserable (if you have to add sliders for your physics, you've made bad physics), the visuals look extremely cheap, the track design is miserable (most of the tracks are comprised of long straights and tight corners, which feels more like an F1 track than a rally stage), and there isn't a single original bone in this game's body (practically every car, track, and billboard is a shameless ripoff of something else, mainly from older Sega games) - crossing the line from tribute to outright bootleg at times. The most fun I got out of this game was wrecking the AI cars (because this generic physics model allows such crashes, unlike a genuine arcade racer of the era). Also, the game looks significantly worse than the trailer and promo screenshots (mainly in regards to post-processing and lighting), which borders on false advertising. If nothing else, it's a great case study on the sad decline of this genre, from innovative quarter-gobbling masterpieces to shoddy clones of games made by far more talented development teams. Don't buy this.
