Debt City

I would like to recommend this game but just feels like far too little content so far for a 10$ price point. 2-5$ feels much more fair for this to me. It looks really nice and exploring the city and the ways to make money were enjoyable but there didn't seem like enough to pour more than a couple hours into this game. I didn't expect a massive game but the way it was advertised made it seem like there would be a lot more meaningful choices in the options available. In reality it seemed like no matter what route you took it would be 1 action point = 100$. I expected much more risk vs reward which would make the choice of choosing a criminal route or normal job much more interesting. There are also some quality of life changes I would love to see, like being able to change controls. Being locked into arrow key controls and not being able to switch to wasd makes it so annoying for me. An overworld map would also be a very nice addition, although that would make the game even shorter by cutting down exploration. I also think having achievements or some kind of 100% checklist would make going around and doing all the different jobs feel more rewarding for some people, but I see no achie…

I was part of the kickstarter campaign. I dont know what i was expecting. The art style is neat, but pretty boiler plate 8 bit, with some nice world detail. The ideas are there but the game play is super basic and you can play it through in 1-2 hours. Its begging for secrets and more story and a lot of blocked areas to be opened. There could be so much more, but i get the feeling the creator is jumping to the next project. I havent played the other games they have released, but from the reviews it looks like the games could use a good round of community feedback before launching to the next project. This is a good candidate for some expansion and using the early access to add some real layers to it. I am not shaming the creators by any mean, quiet the contrary. great job making a functioning game with no bugs on my quick play through! hats off to you! I recently completed the game in ~2-2.5 hours and I was a Kickstarter backer. I overall liked the game concept, and it was fun exploring the game. But here are my notes/recommendations: 1. I felt like I didn’t have a reason to change my strategy much after the first 3-4 days, making the later stages of the game and making it become repetitive. 2. I would love to have reasons to come back to the game and play again but there isn’t enough random events or alternate play styles that I was interested in for my personal replay-ability. 3. My favourite sections were helping Santa, making different drugs to sell and being able to assassinate people. 4. I would have liked to have seen my choices and actions impact the game ending. 5. I wanted the ability to steal items within the world rather than only being able to open the treasure boxes. I wanted the fantasy of being able to steal whatever I wanted (and for there to be a consequence if I got caught) 6. The warzone area you can mine in didn’t feel at all dangerous, this felt like a disconnect, if I can die when trying to assassinate someone, why couldn’t I be at risk of dying in the warzone area? 7. Backed it on KS. The game is atrious. Terrible sound, gameplay that looks like its made by some teenager on his parent's computers. This is the first game I support on KS, that if I could request my KS pledge back I would.
