Degeons Project

Degeons Project is a science-fiction puzzle adventure developed and published by Mystery Studios that combines environmental storytelling, psychological suspense, and exploration-focused gameplay into an experience built almost entirely around atmosphere and mystery. The game takes place inside the abandoned Degeons Laboratory complex, a massive research facility once known for advanced scientific experimentation before a catastrophic incident forced the project into silence. After having been informed that the game is in fact beatable I went and did so and in the process my opinion became a bit harsher. This game has the core it needs to be good but the movement is clunky and the "puzzles" are either so simple that they barely count or are so ???? that you probably stumble upon the solution by pure luck. Theres platforming sections that even if short are a pain because the game doenst feel made for it, nor does the second gun really have any need to exist one could just remove the 20 or so blocks that need to be shot. Anyway this game is weirdly frustrating for how short it is in its current state. I don't think theres anything fundamentally wrong that can never be fixed but currently it certainly is an experience. Original review: I originally played the demo during Next Fest and was morbidly curious with how this was gonna end up being. This game feels kinda all over the place but its not too bad until suddenly rooms break and aren't completable, the checkpoints set you back 10-15 minutes, bounce platforms do not actually send you where youre supposed to go unless you countersteer their movement.
