Desktop Dinosaurs is a cute idle game concept with charming dinosaur companions, but players report it suffers from significant technical issues including frequent crashes, excessive memory consumption, and an unresponsive developer. The core gameplay is also limited, requiring constant attention for an idle game and offering minimal interaction options beyond basic activities, with the game apparently discontinued and receiving no bug fixes. Players suggest avoiding it in its current state unless the developers return to address the stability problems and add meaningful progression features.
It's a cute first run at a game, but needs a lot more development and balancing. The major issues: 1) Dino needs attention way too often for an idle game. I can't leave my computer for more than an hour without the dino dying. 2) This game eats memory. I can have five other games going and this one will take more memory than the rest combined. 3) Still crashes on occasion. Though I suspect it's because of the memory consumption more than anything else. 4) Also would love other ways to interact with the dinos. There's petting them, or playing with a ball, that's it.3 found this helpful

it discontinued, so no bug fixes. fun concept, but needs a new person to develop the game since the original owner is possibly dead at this point
It is fun and nice to have a dinosaur on my labtop. But the game will crash every time I try to evo. him :( Please un-bug this amazing game. From Peanutsbutters
