Parkasaurus

I played some of the tutorial of this and it was okay but there were a few things that bugged me. A tiny nitpick would be that the character models dont look like the images. But the reason I refunded it was the "Dig" mechanic to get new dinosaurs. While I expected a mini-game, it just gave me a loading screen. "Wait for crew to arrive at the site" takes like three minutes. There's no excuse for it.

For what I paid (90% off), it's a blast. Played 8 hours as soon as I got it (oops). Not sure I'd pay full price for this game tho. It's amazing as a chill zoo builder, with little attention needing to go towards actually managing the zoo and more going towards the creative part. Once you start to take off, it's essentially creative mode. There are a huge amount of dinosaurs, though they are mostly just reskins of the same beasty, their behavior doesn't seem to differ. The building controls can be really clunky. There's quite a few bugs throughout the game, though I haven't run into anything game-breaking, just nuisances. (I think the most annoying bug so far is that when moving an object it prevents you from placing it over itself, meaning you can't nudge stuff over easily) A major balance issue I've noticed is heart trading. I accumulate a massive amount of hearts (I'm not sure how you get them, still), which can be exchanged for $5000 or 500 science points. So basically, I'm never short on cash or science. There are still parts of the game I've yet to touch. I played the first career tutorial, but then went straight to sandbox. I haven't touched the aquatic species…

This game reminds me so much of the old zoo tycoon game I used to play when I was little- that one had a dinosaur expansion and it was always my favorite part. This feels like the best parts of that made into a separate game and I love it :3

It's a cute Dinosaur-themed zoo builder. It's a bit more chill and relaxed than the JWE franchise, more focused on dino welfare and building a nice park rather than constantly fighting disasters! There's definitely a few glitches, dinos would occasionally glitch into a fence and become unhappy for example, but nothing game-breaking that I encountered. Overall it's a fun little game and I enjoy the change of pace from some other zoo builders I've played!
