About Destruction of Heavenly Bliss

Lying beneath the surface of this roguelite arcade shoot 'em up lies a haunting experience. Take the role of Artem, an advanced intelligence created by a naive researcher. Experience the combat simulations intended to mold his young mind, and watch as it twists him instead. Grow stronger and more aware with each run in the simulation, until both the facade and Artem's mind finally shatter.Fight through 9 levels and gather bits as you destroy enemy combatants. You might start off feeble, but those bits will allow you to increase your firepower more and more.Use that power to dive deeper into the simulation and survive until the end to face a challenging boss. Unlock moments of consciousness for Artem after the defeat of each boss and untangle the memories of his struggle as he comes to terms with the horrific truth of his creation.Unlock new weapons and capabilities for your ship, giving you an advantage against the relentless hordes of ships that impede your progress. Each upgrade expands the tree, giving you more options with every purchase.Upgrade aspects of your current weaponry. From firepower and projectile speed to special properties like piercing and bounce. Go from the slow, deliberate gameplay of older shoot 'em ups, to an overpowered machine of death with hundreds of bullets like modern bullet hells by the end.Survive this onslaught till the very end and realize why you would cherish the blissful ignorance of non-existence.

Really liked it. Honestly, it could have forced me to take more time. Would love some sort of extended way to play like some "unlimited" mode. I was not expecting a story and it was good.

A glorious repudiation of the evils of metaprogression in a lovely audiovisual package, and a challenging (but not impossible) bullet hell shooter to boot!

June 20, 2026 - There was an update pushed that fixes the soft-locks I was experiencing. I jumped back in to try and kill the mission 10 boss. And... I realized if I kept trying to kill it my review would turn into a negative. It's truly awful. There's so much green that it's hard to avoid the incoming green attacks. The boss casts this lightning thing, shoots missiles, tons of tiny bullets, and does this 3 laser attack that severely limits your movement. I understand that this ought to be a difficult battle, but this is just infuriating. Fully upgraded and damage to the boss is still too low. Half the time I can't see what I'm doing properly because everything is some shade of green and it all blends together. My attacks are green which hide the incoming green attacks.. Aside from this large circular thing I launch. Anyway, definitely not jumping back into it because this final boss is just an exercise in extreme frustration. Still keeping it a recommendation though, because I still feel mostly satisfied. At the time of this review, 2:12 pm PST(19 June) I am unable to finish the game due to some bugs. I've posted about in the discussion board, so I hope they'll be fi…

It's a good game. I like shooting things. Visual style is very nice. I think the progression system moves a little too fast once you find the double bits upgrade. But that just lets me shoots more things even faster. Solid game to spend 2 hours on.
