About Dice Assassin
Positioning on the board is essential for victory, as you need to move strategically to confront enemies in the right squares. The movement on the board is reminiscent of classic board games, adding an extra layer of complexity to battles.
Choose Your Attack
The game's dynamics are simple but highly strategic. You select your attacks using cards that represent moves such as Slash, Dash, Backstep, Impact, and many others. Each type of attack has its own advantages and disadvantages, making it crucial to choose the best card for each situation.Activate Card Abilities

Players appreciate the core turn-based strategy mechanics and dice-driven roguelike concept, but consistently criticize the game for feeling unfinished with poor UI clarity, confusing explanations of systems, and technical issues like crashes that cause progress loss. The game appears to lack polish and ongoing developer support, making it feel more like an early prototype than a complete experience, though those who grasp the chess-like tactical positioning can find enjoyable strategic depth.
I've only been playing for two days, and thus far I really love the gameplay and concept of this game. However, I have a couple peeves already that make the game not as enjoyable as I think it should be. 1) The main problem I had just happened to me on my second day of gameplay on my SteamDeck, and it's a big one. I was on my most successful run yet, I know the last I had looked at the level number it said 35, so I was probably around room 40 when suddenly a black screen with a white error window-box popped up and my only options were "COPY", "CLEAR", and "ABORT". Sadly, all I was able to do was to abort my game and when I reopened it, the new weapon card I had purchased during my run was not showing in my collection anymore. That made me almost want to give up on the whole game, because if that can happen at any time, what is the point of playing at all if my progress might not be saved? My suggestion to the developers is this: PLEASE MAKE THE GAME SAVE PROGRESS AFTER EACH ROOM (at least), or, even better, AFTER EACH MOVE!! It makes absolutely no sense in this day and age that you cannot incorporate mid-game saves into this game so players can stop and return to their game right …2 found this helpful
Feels unfinished; more of a concept of a game than a full fun experience. Very little variety, bugs, poor UI, and terrible clarity on what things do (even with the genre in mind). Read the other reviews and look at the forum. This game is also abandoned by its dev(s).2 found this helpful
Fun roguelike, I would love to see a more fleshed out longer version. You do have to use strategery in your movements you can't just move around randomly and expect to win like I see in a lot of these reviews.1 found this helpful
First 20 Minutes Gameplay Here I have this game lying around for such a long time because I still don't know if I like it or not, or even maybe I don't understand the mechanics of the game. It's actually quite easy to understand but I just couldn't get into the game... So basically, you play cat and mouse on a chess board with your enemies where the hit rate of your attacks is depending on the dice which roll each time where you also will get boost cards... You are seeing the enemies next moves and can move accordingly but as said. It just might be that I couldn't get the hang around it. And since there's nor maybe button, I'm gonna go with thumps up for the people who might like it.1 found this helpful
Dice Assassin is a compact turn-based strategy title that blends board-game logic, card-driven actions, and the inherent unpredictability of dice into a tightly focused tactical experience. Developed and published by Afil Games, the game presents itself as a series of small but demanding combat puzzles, where success depends on how well players can adapt their plans to chance while maintaining precise positioning on a grid-based battlefield. Rather than offering sprawling maps or long narrative arcs, it concentrates on moment-to-moment decision-making, making every turn feel deliberate and consequential. At the heart of the gameplay is a system that revolves around automatic dice rolls at the start of each turn. These rolls determine the numerical values that influence movement ranges, attack power, or how certain action cards can be used. Instead of allowing players full control over their options, Dice Assassin forces them to work within the constraints provided by chance. This creates a constant tension between planning and improvisation, as players must evaluate the board state and decide how best to convert imperfect rolls into effective actions. The dice never feel purely de…
Fun concept, not normal game start to boot because unfriendly default language setting except you can understand portuguese, would love to play more but it lacks for a better button system mapping and an understanding of a better explaination of the game. I will come back if the game is at a better state and change the review appropriately. But it seems the game was given without care
