Distant castle

Distant Castle is a game that advertises itself as being able to be a first person and third person adventure puzzle game, and well it is indeed truthful on this claim, since you will likely be switching between the two to suit the more ideal point of view. This was an interesting concept, and one thing I will quickly note is that there is no gameplay footage on the steam page, keep this in mind for later. If there was one way to describe Distant Castle, it would be….chaos. “This is a stand-alone puzzle adventure game with shooting and action elements. Game, you have been transferred to a castle, the castle is chaos, use your wisdom to find your stuff, crack the levels in the castle, beat the final boss, finally win the game.” If you would like a short summary, the game itself feels incomplete, be it for some asset issues, lack of real direction, obscure passages to a hidden story, and just some wicked motion blur when moving the camera in third person. I like how [b] Distant Castle [/b] got 7 positive curator recommendations, despite being one of the most objectively broken games I ever played. At least use the informative review, instead of giving a vague description that hides very obvious problems. This is essentially a puzzle-platformer where you explore a small castle with several riddles. In order to see the controls you have to know to walk up to the screen on the wall, otherwise you would be completely lost. Unfortunately, the instructions do not reflect the actual controls (-_-). Needless to say that game is not very optimized, pretty much all of the mechanics are very clunky. The objects are difficult to move and it is very hard to aim the dagger (it keeps going to the side). Want some icing on the cake? The save feature is not working properly. Now to be fair, I did not expect a good game. I try to keep an open mind because there are some decent "so bad it's good" titles. Distant Castle is basically a student project if you ever played one.
