About DIVO

DIVO - This is an unusual, bright and dynamic arcade game, where you control a hamster in a cyber wheel! Our hero must, within a limited time, reach the finishing point of the level while simultaneously avoiding collisions with enemies and collecting all sorts of bonuses, to successfully complete each level! The game also has various elements of puzzles, where you have to find certain items in order to pass a certain obstacle. Levels are designed as a large tower (tower rotation depends on the movement of the main character) around which are placed all the game elements: platforms, teleporters, traps, etc.

Key Features:

  • 2 modes of movement of the protagonist: NORMAL mode and the MAGNET
  • The original design of the levels at which the levels are not have "left" or "right" edge, and also allows the player to walk around the tower.
  • Game support Stereoscopic 3D
  • Enhanced graphics effects: Glow, SSAO, Soft Shadows. ( Require Pixel Shader 3.0 support)

This is a weak ripoff of Nebulus on the Commodore 64. A skill based 2D platformer with a simple twist, the platforms are on the outside of a tower that revolves as you move left or right. Collect gems, jump between platforms and climb higher to reach the end of the level. When your game compares poorly to something released 25 years earlier, you shouldn't put it on Steam. I will commend the developer for putting in sufficient effort to make the game work smoothly in 4K on modern PCs. This is completely commendable and should be acknowledged. However, that doesn't justify releasing ancient and deprecated game concepts as if they were new.

Controls are far from being responsive or reliable, visually it looks ok-ish but nothing special but level design is far from perfect, frustrating and more teadios than fun.

Fun, interesting take n platformers and their mechanics. Note: I hate platformers. Lovely graphics, straightforward mechanics, consistent physics, excellent use of environment to make me nervous about doing anything in the level.

Here's my review of this piece of ♥♥♥♥: Don't play DIVO, don't make your friends play DIVO, don't even look at DIVO. There are plenty of better FREE tower climbing games. Don't get one that feels like your constantly skating on ice, even when airborne. It's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game, with barely changing music (every few levels it finally changes) that loops forever, and with way too many collectibles. If you get it, I will not be to blame. Now if you will excuse me, I'm going to watch funny hamsters to remind me they aren't Satan.

Tags: Platformer Additional Tags: Delete Local Content & Remove from Library TLDR: Outclassed by the overwhelming amount of competition in the genre Review: Divo makes a very bad first impression, old 3D, a jump that seems a little clumsy and underwhelming and level design that mostly revolves around moving forward and up on a ramp around a tower. Then it surprises, as you get familiar with the magnet mechanics start looping around platforms to catch tokens, get familiar with elevators, teleporters and learn to differentiate how different tower blocks react to you. The idea of controlling a small lab rat trapped in a rat wheel with what looks like a bunch of electrodes sticking out of his skull is kinda neat and the music does have an electronic touch. Finally with the timer ticking down all the time, the oft failed jump the limited amount of assets that recycle constantly, the mmusic looping a little too much you end back more or less when you started. At first glance this is a 25 levels game 2 of which I completed in about 15 minutes as I was learning the game and dying constantly. So if that first glance is correct there are not all that many hours to get through if you did en…
