I was on board with how bad and clunky it is until I saw that it's made by like 5 or so people in a team. This is really difficult and unfun to play, only redeeming quality I saw is main character's model. While it's standing still, because animations are terrible too3 found this helpful
[Don't] Let Go is a 3D puzzle platformer. The game has an amazing, From Soft-esque atmosphere and art. However, the platforming is a bit janky and the combat is even janky-er. Despite my criticisms, I enjoyed what I played especially for the low price of free and the fact that this was a student project; I'd say the team and the people on it, show quite the potential.2 found this helpful
The character uncontrollably starts to masturbate whenever I want to move the cube towards me. NSFW.2 found this helpful
Sooo, this game is janky if played on keyboard (I didn't play on gamepad so idk is it any better). The camera is.. very uncomfortable. Especially in tight spaces, where it becomes nearly uncontrollable, or when it becomes fixed BUT DOESN'T ALIGN WITH LEVEL so if you will go just left you will fall. Animations are not very good as well, combat is strange, climbing is just bad. BUT this game is still fun! some puzzles are interesting, the reuse of some locations really helps the immersion, and if you accept the issues the platforming and combat may become fun as well. My favorite part of the game was trying to figure out how to get achievements and finding skips/speedrun tactics/bugs. Overall, I really liked this game, and I do recommend you to play it if you can tolerate the flaws and like this genre! 7/101 found this helpful
For a free puzzle/adventure game I found at 3am in the morning, it's pretty alright. I used on a PS4 controller for my playthrough, and I found the controls to be really finicky, especially when a dramatic camera angle happens and your character veers off that platform you're walking on. Having to "drop cube -> do a platforming thing -> call back cube -> repeat" for a lot of the platforming can get tedious, but having the cube phase through walls when it's called back is a really nice touch, preventing a lot of tedium. I just wished that specific mechanic was used in more puzzles! Combat, honestly, is just outright not good: you can tackle to knock enemies down and prevent them from stealing your cube buddy, but can only damage them by chucking said cube buddy at them. It's pretty funny initially at least, but it does feel very limiting for most of the game to have only two ways to interact with enemies. The stamina recharge being about half fast as it ought to be does not help with neither combat, nor platforming, although I think it's less of a problem in the latter half of this game. I also wished this game's sound effects and animations was less flat and underutilized as well. …1 found this helpful
