About Dungeons & Darkness
DEMO
DEMO is available!
You can play up to the first dungeon.
Then you can use the same savedata for the release version.

A first-person exploration and action RPG game.
Make your way through monster and trap infested dungeons,
uncover chests contained powerful weapons and armor,
and slay the great evil that lurks deep in the shadows.

This world is full of misfortune...
Countries do battle, people kill and steal, the poor suffer.
Stories began to spread amongst the people.
The stories told of several dungeons in this world.
That within their depths, lives a calamitous evil.
An evil energy that darkens hearts and will bring ruin to this land.
Warriors have delved into the dungeons, seeking its darkest secrets.
One seeks to destroy the evil and bring peace to this land.
Another looks for lost treasures, seeking only his own wealth.
And yet another...
The existence of several impregnable dungeons of old became known
throughout the land, attracting people, goods and commerce.
Naturally this led to the creation of a town - one of prosperity and stability.
But the town that exists now speaks of a warped and troubled world.
It has withstood many disasters and longs for peace to return to this world...
It is with this same wish that you set foot into the town.

Nostalgic, yet new...
Enter unforgiving dungeons where many an adventurer has met with their end.
We expect you are already very familiar with dungeon RPGs by now, right?
We felt that this genre needed to be brought to the next level, with real time action
that was difficult to achieve with the hardware specs of the previous generation.
Please enjoy our new dungeon RPG adventure!

Fun game if you like games like Kings Field. Completed in 36 hrs. Built up my level to 29. Dungeons were fun except the last mine dungeon was a pain. Too narrow to navigate around monsters in battle. That being said it still was fun to play. Highly recommend if you like old time dungeon crawlers.4 found this helpful
Dungeons & Darkness is a first-person dungeon-crawling action RPG developed by Yamiuchi Project and published by PLAYISM that embraces a deliberately old-school approach to fantasy exploration. Rather than guiding players through a heavily scripted narrative filled with cinematic set pieces, it places them directly into the depths of dangerous underground labyrinths and asks them to survive through combat skill, careful exploration, and resource management. The game’s premise is simple yet effective: descend into dark, monster-infested dungeons, gather powerful equipment, confront increasingly deadly foes, and push deeper into a world consumed by ancient evil. The experience is presented entirely from a first-person perspective, which heightens immersion and tension. Narrow corridors, dimly lit chambers, and sudden enemy encounters create an atmosphere that feels claustrophobic and threatening. Combat occurs in real time, requiring players to swing weapons, cast spells, and maneuver defensively without the safety net of turn-based pauses. This immediacy gives battles a raw, physical quality. Enemies vary in size and threat level, from smaller creatures that test reaction speed to …
It's aight. Yeah, the animations are janky, but in terms of gameplay they're not only serviceable, they actually add an extra element to the gameplay. Do you want the hammer that does a butt-load of damage, or the sword with the better move set? Dark Souls has stiff animations and everyone seems to think it's amazing there. The one thing I will complain about is the repetition in the quests. You have a hub with only a few maps. While the idea of returning to the same map and progressing a little farther is unique as well as fun, in reality you end up in the same parts of the maps 90% of the time. And the maps just end up being too big. Have fun walking though the lower floor of the sewers like 10 times in a row. If it was short, unique dungeons and the animations were a bit smoother, I think you'd have a real winner here. There's a story, but it's pretty barebones. Yeah, the dev probably is ESL, but I don't think even in their native tounge this is a priority here.
Janky combat but fun once you master the timing of everything. Edit: I take back what I said, fourth dungeon is the worse area someone could've ever designed. Spiders have a LOT more range than any other ennemy, everything is a corridor, most ennemies shoot front facing projectiles, objects have no collision etc.. The artificial difficulty increase wasnt that bad from 1-2 and 2-3 but the end is just unbearable to play through
very good remind me that the good games still can be found
Straight and to the point. Let's be honest. This game isn't the best game out there but hey, you get what you came for in this game, despite it's clunky animations. I beat this game once and I never came back to it but honestly, it's worth the experience. My opinion? There's better games out there but at the very least, give this one a shot. It's, again, worth the experience, especially for those oldie dungeon crawler players. :3
