About Dust Fleet
It's the 24th century and the colonization of space is not going well. Hyperspace opened the door to the stars, but habitable worlds are few and far in between, overpopulation is still rampant, and our civilization's appetite for resources has only increased. For over a hundred years, the incredibly rich Dust Zone sated this endless appetite, jointly controlled by the United Earth Nations and the Zone Mining Cooperative. But humanity’s fighting chance only lasted for a short hundred years.
Now, it has gone dark. Freighters stopped arriving with supply hauls and humanity is facing an unprecedented crisis. It's up to the commander of UEN's finest fleet, to deploy into the Dust Zone, investigate, and solve the supply chain crisis before it spirals out of control. It's time to demonstrate strategic aptitude in a turn-based management mode. Then, head to the front lines and channel your inner commander in intense, real-time space battles.
- Command an entire space fleet and survive in the most hostile environment known to man. Secure strategic nodes, harvest the Dust Zone's resources, and expand the fleet to confront the threat to humanity's survival.
- Customize each individual ship using a detailed designer. Upgrade every vessel with newly researched hulls, modules, and of course, weapons. Every upgrade matters, not just on the ships themselves.
- Complete side missions to unlock additional fleet stations and strategic options. These can provide one-of-a-kind bonuses in battles, from extra build queues to support powers - potentially turning the tide of the battle at hand or even the entire war.
- Take command of a custom fleet in intense 4x real-time tactical battles, maneuvering them in a fully 3D combat space.
- Employ complex, tactical maneuvers to gain the upper hand and defeat superior foes through cunning and strategic brilliance.
- Summon reinforcements and support powers from adjacent sectors to influence the direction of the battle.
- Never give up and keep the fight going in the Sector Assault mode to generate a fully randomized starmap, side missions, and enemies, for fresh challenges each time.
- Use the robust campaign editor and mod.io integration to create and easily share new campaigns with fellow players and craft personalized challenges!
What Steam players say

Players praise the satisfying tactical gameplay with its full 3D space combat system and commend the developer for creating a polished Homeworld-like experience largely solo. However, complaints focus on the short campaign length (around 30 hours), limited ship variety with only two factions, minimal customization options for ships and station modules, and some difficulty balancing issues that can lead to frustrating mission restarts without clear recovery paths.
Turn based strategy on the grand map, RTS on the tactical map. The tactical map is satisfying. Ship turret loadouts can be modified in a minimal fashion. There are only a few station modules for each type of slot, too. There are only four resources to manage: "Resources" (raw material), Research, Promethium (to unlock certain research or insta-build ships), and Power (in networks of contiguous systems, and only used by advanced station modules). The tactical map is fully 3d, and I like it better than the, more common, "thick disk" 2d plus space tactical maps. The tutorial is not too tedious, and it does help with camera control and issuing ship commands. The campaign has some optional missions, but is still too short, being only about 30 hours. The procedurally generated non-campaign play is adequate, with some replay value. The price is definitely not too high for what you get. I do wish the tech tree was larger and included branches for propulsion, armor, shields, fighter systems, and exploitation systems. The veterancy system starts slow, but, after the first 10 levels, becomes more powerful. I didn't have any stuttering at all until I amassed a fleet of 200+ ships plus anothe…5 found this helpful

Given that this game has come from a single developer, for what it is, its great. Has some good ideas and I wish games like Sins of a Solar Empire and Homeworld 3 had done something like them as well. Its genuinely a fun game to play. Had a few game breaking bugs, but it autosaves frequently, so loss of time and effort is minimal. It is also a little short in campaign time, but the essential skirmish mode is great for replayability and the ai is honestly a bit tough lol, which i quite like :) . I am looking forward to more from this developer in adding content and balancing some ships, more bits to add to the ships would be nice .. armour and prop mods would be a want to have I would love to see what the future plans for this are1 found this helpful
on my third day playing this game i realized something. Why aren't i using the "build ships and call them in during the mission" button. I don't need death stacks. I CAN SUMMON THE DEATH WAVES!1 found this helpful
Like a slightly modernised version of a 2000's space RTS. I found the campaign a bit difficult, partly because I'm not a very good player, but also because there isn't a lot of handholding to show you the most effective strategies, particularly on the 4X map. For example, if you're not maintaining a strong border fleet, and just chasing the "Missions", you will come undone. If you haven't got lots of historic saves, that could mean starting again from scratch, which is a bit frustrating. But then you still do need to complete the "Missions" to progress and to get some free tech unlocks and ships. Hard to find that balance. I haven't played the Sector Assault game mode yet, looking forward to giving that a go. For the price, especially during a sale, this game is well worth a punt. I hope a sequel will be made that fleshes the game out a bit and smooths off some of the rougher edges!1 found this helpful
of all the homeworld-like games I've played, this might just be the best and it's made by just one dude
