About Echo of the Last Light
Student Collaboration With the University of Utah:
The Fat Bear Society, a studio consisting of 2 producers, 5 artists, 5 engineers, 4 designers, and 2 musicians, worked for 10 months to deliver Echo of the Last Light. This 3D action-adventure puzzle game was created in a simulated-studio environment at the Graduate Games Lab at the University of Utah, but the project is 100% student-run and student-owned. Prepare to be blown away by our incredible non-profit project!
Overview:
In a world where The Echoes used to light up the sky, the last light is your only hope. Together with the Echo, a creature of light, you embark on a mission to rescue the world from the encroaching darkness. Will you save the world or become consumed by the Abyss?
In Echo of the Last Light, you will explore a beautiful yet perilous world, team up with a mysterious creature, and engage in combat against the enemies of The Royal Eclipse. With a captivating story, puzzles, and thrilling action, this game seamlessly blends exploration, combat, and adventure. Collaborate with your companion to unlock new abilities and uncover hidden secrets in the world.
Play as Tamasis, Humble Light Follower
In Echo of the Last Light, you play as Tamasis, a follower of The Humble Light, a group of moths dedicated to preserving the world's light. Your mission is to find the only remaining source of light, a creature that becomes your companion. You must bring the last light to The Tree of Humble Light to save the world from The Royal Eclipse, who seeks its destruction. Along the way, you will team up with The Last Light, fight the enemies of The Royal Eclipse, and uncover secrets that will alter the world's fate.
Fight Enemies With Your Companion
Join forces with your trusty companion to overcome challenging puzzles and take down the enemies of The Royal Eclipse in Echo of the Last Light. With the Echo ability, you'll be able to uncover hidden secrets and see what others cannot. Collaborate with your companion to use your enhanced abilities to your advantage, and work together to fight your way through hordes of enemies.

Your companion possesses a powerful Echo ability that reveals hidden elements in the world. Cute, short little game. Played it over a few times - Did some digging, appears to have been a school project? Either way, I HIGHLY doubt it'll ever be expanded upon which is quite unfortunate. But if you need something to kill about an hour? It's worth checking out!
Really cool concept and if it is ever realised I will be there but it's a buggy mess in it's current state and none of the achievements work. 0/10
"Echo of the Last Light" must be a student project or something... it's short, feels like a tech demo/portfolio showcase, works and looks far better than most "indie" games made by amateur developers, and feels like a console game that was put on Steam instead (because it's cheaper). Those are all hallmarks of student projects. Which is a bit of a problem, because we're not here to grade homework assignments. What do you do in the game? This is a very simple console-esque platformer/adventure/action game where you control some moth dude, you have an all powerful sidekick, and yeah... there's not a lot to this, although it's not that bad as far as homework assignments go. This looks a lot like it was designed for consoles, but released on Steam instead by mistake. While this is on PC, it has all the hallmarks and deficiencies of a console game, from the clunkier than needed control scheme to the less than cutting edge graphics. There's 10's of thousands of PC games on Steam, and PC gamers deserve only the best. This might not appeal to many gamers due to the lack of PC-centric design. It's unclear why this never made it to the video game console appliances it seems to have …
