About Edmund and Eliza
Edmund and Eliza is a medieval themed, horror-centric, story-focused, action adventure game with a focus on combat, exploration, and puzzle solving.
Edmund and Eliza is a senior design capstone project for California State University of Northridge.
The story of Edmund and Eliza is about a knight named Edmund Dantes who ventures into a mysterious village in search of a merchant's missing daughter named Eliza Bonteri. The game features two playable protagonists, Edmund and Eliza. Edmund's section of the game focuses on his exploration of the village in search of a way into the castle, where he believes Eliza is being held captive. Eliza's section of the game focuses on her searching for a way to escape the castle so she can reunite with her father.
The gameplay of Edmund and Eliza is similar to that of Dark Souls and Resident Evil. The game is a short experience, about one to two hours long. The combat is fun and thrilling, yet deliberate and attentive, and punishes the player for poor positioning and timing. The game also has large levels the player can explore, with lots of things to do. The player has an inventory where they can store items, such as keys for unlocking doors and drinks that restore their health.
The art style and graphics of Edmund and Eliza is reminiscent of the Play Station 2 era of video games. Edmund and Eliza is meant to harken back to that time period and remind players of their childhood.
Enjoy Edmund and Eliza!

Good: Looks promising for free game although the health bar on bit lower from upper left corner. Quite scary enemy face designs and it's scream or yell when they meet our character Bad: Movements, mechanic and feature need improvement. Can't jump, even from certain edge Camera must move with character (playing with mouse and keyboard, so when you want to move your camera to look around with mouse, it can't.) Better inventory UI perhaps (?) Overall it's great game.1 found this helpful
I really like this short, short game. More about the story and exploration than violence. I really like that! By the end, I really cared what happened.1 found this helpful
A free version of The Witcher that will only work well for controllers1 found this helpful
this opening cutscene is the worst. It just looks like stills from the game. M+KB is recommended but there's no mouselook to turn edmund? You want me to use A and D to turn around??? the field of view effect while moving looks bad. the entire first level was literally just running for over a minute straight while items popped in despite being able to fit the entire 850MB game into memory. Then another text-on-picture cutscene. Got super bored.
Really enjoyable game, somewhat slow at first but once you get the hang of it, it flows. Personally i wished i had more control with movement with the mouse to look around. Overall great game. Not too happy about the ending. Could have at least let us use a potion haha. Definitely recommend playing, my stream and I had so much fun.
