About The Knightling
Sir Lionstone, the most powerful knight and protector of the great city of Clesseia, hasn’t returned from his latest quest. As Sir Lionstone’s trusted knightling, it is up to you and the legendary shield he left behind to become the hero the people need and find Lionstone before lurking threats endanger the realm. Explore the many regions and secrets of the lands of Clesseia, fend off bandits and monsters, and uncover the truth of the shield’s unparalleled power and the realm’s illustrious past.
All Heroes Start Small
Play as the Knightling, a knight-in-training whose loyalty and determination sets them off on a grand adventure to find their knight. With solely a shield in hand, you’ll utilize and upgrade your training and arsenal of abilities to overcome obstacles, help citizens and prove that you’re worthy of knighthood.
The Best Offense Is a Good Defense
Left with just Sir Lionstone’s shield, which contains a mysterious element called Callyrium, it is up to the Knightling to harness its power and become the next legendary hero. Leverage the shields natural defensive power to block, parry, and create ideal openings, then leverage big attacks and combos to finish off foes.
Slide Into Adventure
Set off on your adventure across multiple regions of Clesseia with the power of your shield to help you along! Traverse and platform to various areas to earn valuable praise used in upgrades, or use the shield’s various movement abilities to make getting around easier. Though probably beneath a legendary shield’s reputation, no one is stopping you from sliding all across the land!

Solid little platformer.1 found this helpful
This game starts out as a fun and simple 3D action platformer but over the course of it's playtime the small cracks become chasms that suck all fun out of the experience. The combat is a mess and poorly designed. Attacks are slow and it has no targeting system but you're often surrounded by 5+ enemies that just hit you over and over again. This is compounded by the fact there are fast enemies that dodge every attack and fat armored enemies that act like sponges and will heal all other enemies near you. So every fight is trying to kill the armored ones first while avoiding the others until you rip its armor off and kill it. Then it's slowly dodging and getting a couple hits in on the fast enemies until you kill them. It's so tedious and repetitive. By the end I was avoiding all combat unless it was required. I can't express how bad every fight feels by the halfway point. It's baffling the designers thought this would be fun. The exploration is amateur hour. The map is loaded with points of interest and collectables, but many don't disappear from your map once you get them, so you don't know what you've gotten and what you haven't. There are not enough fast travel points and travers…
Outstanding game. It took me about 12 hours to complete the main story with a little bit of side questing and treasure hunting, but I came nowhere close to fully completing everything. The gameplay is simple but fun, and the action-exploration reminds me a lot of games like Jak and Daxter or Ratchet and Clank.
It has a nice PS2 platformer feel to it. The visuals are nice. Theres lots of upgrades, although the ones for the shield are way too expensive and you'll only get a few. This is done to force you to grind side quests, but because theyre so spread out and the fast travel system is garbage, it would be way too much running with a slow sprint that I only did a few. Combat is pretty basic, with a 3 hit combo, a block and a dodge. Theres a few moves like dodge or block attack and an air juggle that works on some people, but the combat doesn't really evolve. Especially once it starts adding in fast enemies you can't hit with basic attack you basically sit back holding block and try to use block attack which can be kind of boring. The platforming works well enough although the camera can be god awful at times and is super jittery. The world is pretty large but is also kind of empty at the same time. The quest directions can be quite awful and give so little information you'll need intermittent use of walkthroughs to have any idea what you're supposed to do with the nonspecific quest directions, or lack of proper markers at times outside of a general area with broad instructions. I did…
The knightling is a fun action-adventure with a unique and fun movement mechanic and a charming style and story. Like I said I like the movement mechanics, they feel great and are fun to use. I just wish the game had a bit more incentive to go at speed. I found the combat to be a lot better than I expected from this type of game, its quite simple in its execution and it can be a little jank a times but I think it works great. it does also get a little repetitive but the experience isn’t long enough to ruin it for me. There just a nice flow to it. Another thing I want to highlight is the puzzle mechanics, the game doesn’t feel the need to overexplain itself and instead has these “puzzle zones” where it expects you to figure out what to do yourself. This makes the, immediately quite simple puzzles, a bit more engaging to figure out and for me only one audio puzzle was a tad frustrating to do. Theres a decent amount to collect and do although a lot of this will be finding chest and doing similar activities like repeated puzzles, thus I have yet to feel super compelled to get everything or do every sidequest (which are overall good). The experience is worth it to me, I find the pr…
